This campus is located in the northwest corner of the West Lake and is the original location of Zhejiang University. Zhejiang University was once praised by the famous British scholar Joseph Needham as the "Cambridge of the East"

During the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, Zhejiang University was forced to move west to Meitan County, Zunyi City, Guizhou Province, where it continued to run the school for seven years. In the autumn of 1946, he moved back to Hangzhou. Under the leadership of President Zhu Kezhen, Zhejiang University rose to become one of several famous universities with influence in China at that time.

According to the official website of Zhejiang University, during the leadership of Zhejiang, the leader personally contacted Zhejiang University, visited Zhejiang University 18 times, made a series of important instructions for the reform and development of the school, and depicted a grand blueprint for building a world-class university with Chinese characteristics at a high level.
