The 2018 Judo World Championships will be held from 20 to 27 September, with the International Judo Federation ceremony leading up to the international judo hall of fame. Xian Dongmei was selected into the Amateur Sports School of Sihui City, Guangdong Province in 1988, and only began practicing judo in 1990, and two years later she won the national youth championship. Subsequently, Xian Dongmei was valued by the national team, and in 1993, Xian Dongmei was selected for the national training team, and in the same year, she participated in the Seventh Games and won the bronze medal. In 1996, Sin Dongmei ruptured her cruciate ligament in her left knee, but had to give up surgery in order to participate in the Eighth Games, and after conservative treatment, Sin Dongmei won the judo championship at the Eighth Games, but missed the Atlanta Olympics due to injury in the same year.

After returning from injury, Sin Dongmei missed the Sydney Olympic Games again due to unsatisfactory Olympic points. In 2001, she was injured again and wanted to retire as a coach in the provincial team, but the provincial team insisted on sending her to the national team. After entering the national team, Sin Dongmei ushered in the peak of her career, in the 2002 Busan Asian Games, Sin Dongmei won the judo championship, she was getting better and better, won various championships, and finally ushered in her Olympic debut, and this debut was perfect, in the final she only took 67 seconds to defeat the Japanese athletes to win the Olympic championship.

In 2005, Sin Dongmei chose to retire, when she was 30 years old. But unexpectedly, she decided to make a comeback after 2 years, aiming directly at the Beijing Olympic Games. After her comeback, Xian Dongmei's state did not diminish that year, and after winning various championships, she finally defended her title at the Beijing Olympic Games and successfully won the gold medal, becoming the first judo master in China to win two Olympic gold medals. It is worth mentioning that in order to prepare for the Beijing Olympic Games, Xian Dongmei forcibly weaned her daughter and went to Beijing to practice when she was just four months old.

In 2009, Xian Dongmei officially retired, and on July 7, 2017, the Chinese Judo Association held a meeting at the National Olympic Sports Center and voted to pass, with Xian Dongmei as the president of the new China Judo Association. Now she has successfully been inducted into the International Judo Federation Hall of Fame, which is the greatest recognition and praise of her career!
