A Dog's Mission is produced by Amblin Entertainment, imported by China Film Group Corporation, and distributed by Huaxia Film Distribution Co., Ltd., directed by Lyce Holstrom, and co-starring Josh Gad, Brett Robertson, Dennis Quaid, and Peggy Lipton.
Based on the novel of the same name by W. Bruce Cameron, the film tells the story of a dog Bailey who undergoes multiple rebirths, searches for different missions in the cycle of life, and finally returns to the original owner. The film was released in the United States on January 27, 2017, and in China on March 3, 2017.
