High-speed rail "weighing division": "playing" between millimeters

author:China Youth Network

Wuhan, January 25, China Youth Network (Pan Jia Xiuzi, Jing Di, Huang Rujuan, Xu Hui, Guo Yufan) During the Spring Festival, high-speed rail trains have become the first choice for many travelers to return home. In the process of operation, the high-speed rail train travels thousands of miles a day at a speed of 100 meters per second, but it does not affect the comfort of passengers at all. So what makes a coin stand on a high-speed EMU for 8 minutes without falling? The mystery of this lies in the Wuhan EMU section, which is known as the largest EMU maintenance base in central China.

On January 24, the fourth day of the Spring Festival, in the maintenance depot of the Wuhan EMU depot, a group of young "weighers" with an average age of only 24 years old were nervously weighing the EMUs parked on the stock road. Zou Bing, the head of the weighing shift, said: "The stability of the EMU is actually closely related to our work. Zou Bing, born in 1990, has been working for five years, and the more than 500 EMUs he has debugged can safely and smoothly provide passengers with a beautiful riding experience, and is an experienced "veteran" in the weighing class.

Zou Bing introduced that the EMU weighing measurement is not much the same as the human body weighing measurement, and there are thousands of large and small components and equipment on the high-speed rail EMU, and each position is different and the height is different, which will affect the shift of the center of gravity of the EMU. Their main task is to measure all technical parameters and make accounting adjustments to ensure that all data meet the requirements. A group of 16 groups of EMUs has 32 bogies, 256 wheels, shaft weight data, the need for data measurement paper 10 pages, measurement data reached 1419, all data are based on millimeter accuracy, and each set of data to measure more than three times, Zou Bing and co-workers have to walk more than 20,000 steps a day, bend down and bow their heads thousands of times.

Weighing measurement is only a small part of the work of "weighers", and the calculation after weighing measurement is their "play". Zou Bing said frankly, "Every millimeter of adjustment of the EMU may cause a weight deviation of more than 100 kilograms at a certain point of the EMU." Therefore, every time they adjust a subtle parameter, they must estimate the weight change of 24 positions of a car in advance, which is not only the high-speed operation of the brain but also the high concentration of physical strength and energy.

"Although we are tired enough every day, we are still very proud every time we see the EMU that has been measured by ourselves running smoothly out of the warehouse." Zou Bing said with a smile, "I have been in Wuhan for 10 years, and I have gone home for 3 years, according to the arrangement, after the 29th shift of the 29th of this year, I can go back to my hometown Chongqing and my family for the New Year, and I am still looking forward to it." ”
