Fengxian District Museum recently held a group exhibition of the works of three young potters - a dialogue salon with potters to talk about modern and contemporary ceramic art.
"Glazed Expression and Daily Life- Group Exhibition of Works by Wang Hao, Ding Weiran and Shen Chengcheng Young Ceramic Artists" is the first exhibition of modern and contemporary ceramic art works in Fengxian District Museum. In such a traditional cultural space as Fengxian Museum, young ceramic artists, modern and contemporary ceramic collectors, ceramic curators, pottery space directors and pottery lovers in and around Fengxian all gathered together to conduct a face-to-face conversation that began with modern and contemporary ceramics professionals and returned to the daily life of ordinary audiences.
Zhang Xuesong, director of the Fengxian District Museum, made a wonderful opening for the salon, telling the original intention of holding this exhibition, the museum as a social public cultural space, is a platform to provide cultural services to the public, Fengxian Museum will also further open the exhibition space of the museum, so that more artists can enter Fengxian.
Under the auspices of Gu Li, the curators of this exhibition, the potters Wang Hao and Ding Weiran (Xiaocao) who participated in this exhibition shared their respective creative experiences and experiences. Wang Hao talked about the importance of ceramic handicrafts for daily utensils from his student days to studying ceramic history, and later went to Japan to study, and felt the significance of ceramic handicraft for daily utensils. The source of Xiaocao's creation comes from her love of nature and color, she met Luoyang Sancai when she was a student, and after graduation, she was nostalgic for the high-temperature color glaze of Jingdezhen and used attractive ceramic materials for personal expression.
The audience at the scene was also very active, and proposed to the author the rationality of the market price of ceramic works, the safety of glaze colors used daily in ceramic works, and the atmosphere was very relaxed and interesting.
The display of the daily utensils of modern and contemporary potters precisely sends a voice to the public, and the source of happiness in life can be particularly simple, such as seeing or buying a daily handmade utensil, and the exhibition allows people to directly touch the beauty of daily life in a zero-distance contact way. Potters express their understanding of art through their works, and audiences bring art and beauty into their lives through their works. And such a communication platform is also inseparable from the city's human social activities. Jiang Yifeng, deputy director of the Fengxian District Culture and Tourism Bureau, Chen Wei, deputy director of the Fengxian New Town Planning and Construction Promotion Office, Zhuo Ya, deputy director of the Fengxian District Culture and Tourism Bureau, and Zhang Xuesong, director of the Fengxian District Museum, shared Fengxian's support for various modern and contemporary art, including pottery, from various aspects of Fengxian's cultural and creative support, favorable cultural and tourism policies, and museum venue support.
Teacher Song Mindong of Shanghai Arts and Crafts Magazine is not only a media sharer of modern and contemporary ceramics, but also an expert with more than 30 years of experience in the collection of modern and contemporary ceramic art works at home and abroad, Mr. Gao Yifeng is a well-known ceramicist in China, and is also a media person who actively promotes and shares ceramics with modern popular live broadcast methods, and Zhao Ming, a famous voice actor in Shanghai, has his own ceramic works display and sales space in Shanghai. Together, they shared their views on contemporary ceramics and utensils, and gave high recognition to the exhibition's pottery communication method on the official platform for the public.
Jiang Yifeng, deputy director of the Fengxian District Culture and Tourism Bureau, said that whether it is the joint exhibition of the works of the three modern and contemporary ceramicists, or the upcoming exhibition of cultural relics excavated from the "Light of Ancient Shu" Sanxingdui Jinsha site, it is the Fengxian Museum as a strong display and output of culture and art in Shanghai's five new cities.
