author:The Paper

According to the latest news from Variety Magazine, the latest film in the 007 series is scheduled to open the first action scene in the mountain town of Mateau in southern Italy in late July this year, directed by Kerry Fuyong, director of "Beast of No Bounds", and daniel Craig continues to star, and is expected to be released worldwide on April 8, 2020. The title of the film has not yet been officially announced, but based on earlier news and information provided by imDB's film database, it is likely to be one of Bond 25 or Shafthand, or as Variety magazine broke, use Sketchhand as a working title during the film's preparations, and then change its name to the file.

Italy has always been a popular filming location for the 007 series. The boat chase scene on the Tiber River in Rome in "Ghost Party" and the car chase scene on the shore of Lake Garda in "Quantum of Solitude" still have a deep impression in the hearts of fans.

The upcoming new film chose Matera as the filming location for the film's opening sequence, and people familiar with the matter revealed that the weight of this scene is comparable to the clip of the Mexico City Day of the Dead at the beginning of "Ghost Party", and some production staff have come to the filming location to carry out preparatory work. By the time it starts in late July, more than 500 production crews will be stationed in the mini-city of 60,000 people who are at the tip of Italian boots.

The question of where the 25th Bond film will be made has been buzzing two years ago. In addition to the setting in the Pinewood studio in the United Kingdom, there are also Croatia, Norway, and Jamaica that have been reported by foreign media such as The Mirror – the latter three are likely to be speculations or rumors, because they have not been officially confirmed.

Croatia is one of the hottest filming locations right now, with both Game of Thrones and Star Wars: The Last Jedi filmed here. Jamaica is a place name of special significance to Bond, with Ian Fleming writing numerous long and short stories at the GoldenEye Estate on Jamaica's north coast, and for Bond fans, the writer's old home that has been renamed The GoldenEye Resort, James Bond's eponymous beach, and the Moonraker Bar not far away are the best pilgrimage destinations. If the film, which is rumored to have been retired by Daniel Craig, can really land in Jamaica, it can show that the production team and screenwriters have the sincerity to pay tribute to the literary roots of the 007 series.

Considering Matera's two special identities – a World Heritage City and the 2019 European Capital of Culture – it seems reasonable to be the first stop on Bond's return. It is a decaying and charming, multicultural ancient city with a rich and diverse landscape and a very characteristic architectural landscape. Many film crews have also come to Matera before, in Mel Gibson's The Passion of the Christ, which is the ancient Jerusalem, and in Warner Bros.'s superhero movie Wonder Woman, it is the paradise island of the Amazons.

Although it is too early to say this, a large number of fans have already considered stepping into Matera's most famous old town of Sasi and meeting the film crew unexpectedly. If you're lucky, in addition to the flesh-and-blood Bond, travelers will be able to rub shoulders with the already officially announced villain leader Rami Marek and the £250,000 Aston Martin new energy supercar.
