The reason why Du Yuesheng can become a generation of tyrants is actually very much related to his experience when he was a child.
In the fourteenth year of Guangxu Guangxu (1888), Du Yuesheng was born in Du Jiazhai (now Pudong New Area, Shanghai) in the south of Gaoqiao Town, Chuansha Hall, Jiangsu Province, and his real name was Du Yuesheng, because the day of birth happened to be the Zhongyuan Festival, which is what we folk call the Ghost Festival. His father, Du Wenqing, saw the moon hanging in mid-air, so he directly gave him the word "moon birth". It can be seen that people at that time really did not have any culture, and it was so hasty to take a name.
The original situation of the Du family was OK, but before Du Yuesheng was born, the family road began to decline, And Du Wenqing had to go out to make a living, successively working as a "tang" in a teahouse, a "picker" at the dock, and later a joint venture with someone to open a millet shop in Yangshupu to support his family.
After Du Yuesheng was born, he did not wait for the full moon, and Du Wenqing was forced to abandon his wife and children to return to the rice shop for his livelihood. In the second year of Du Yuesheng's birth, there was a famine in Jiangsu, and his mother could not stay at home anymore, so she took Du Yuesheng, who had just turned one year old, to the beach to join her husband. However, Du Wenqing's rice shop was also unable to operate due to the famine and could not support his family, so in order to make a living, Zhu Shi entered the yarn factory in Yangshupu pregnant to work, working 12 hours a day. Eating is clear water porridge, work is so tired, Zhu clan eventually accumulated fatigue and died after giving birth to a daughter. Du Wenqing had no money for burial, so he bought a thin-skinned coffin and placed his deceased wife's coffin on the ridge next to the Du family's ancestral home.
Du Wenqing took a pair of children, lived hard, and finally because he was overwhelmed, he gave his daughter to someone, and from then on, Du Yuesheng's brothers and sisters never knew. Du Yuesheng, who became a tycoon in Shanghai, also searched for his sister many times, but unfortunately there was no news.
After a little better life, Du Wenqing continued to marry Zhang Shi, who was kind and kind, treating Yuesheng like a parent, a family and a beautiful life. However, the good times did not last long, and two years later, Du Wenqing died of a sudden illness due to overwork. Zhang sold the shop and returned to his hometown with the coffin of Yuesheng, but he could not afford to pay for the burial, so he had to let Du Wenqing and the coffin of the original Zhu clan be placed in the open air, and only a small grass hut was built on it.
Strangely, before Du Yuesheng left home, a boxwood tree grew next to Du Wenqing and Zhu's coffin, and it grew bigger and bigger, like a giant umbrella covering the coffin. When Du Yuesheng rebuilt the ancestral hall, he thought about burying his parents in a beautiful way, but some people suggested not to move around, saying that that was the root of Du Yuesheng's origins. Du Yuesheng had to build a ancestral hall for his parents, and his parents' coffins were always placed under the boxwood tree, specifically looking for someone to guard.
It is said that Du Yuesheng's stepmother Zhang Shi was young and widowed, but she was kind and benevolent, handled her husband's affairs, took Du Yuesheng back to Yangshupu, rented a cottage, and sold some rice noodles while helping people wash and repair, and it was difficult to live a hard life. When Du Yuesheng was 6 years old, her stepmother Zhang Shi disappeared for no reason, and some people said that they had been abducted, and some people said that they had escaped with other men.
Without any support, Du Yuesheng returned to Takahashi and boarded at the home of his maternal uncle and aunt.
Du Yuesheng when he was young
However, just as the so-called cold rice and cold porridge are delicious, cold words are uncomfortable, and Du Yuesheng under the fence is naturally met with a lot of ridicule and sneering. Coupled with getting older, this has led to Du Yuesheng's maturity in terms of human affection and sophistication, which is much more mature than his peers.
Coupled with the natural disasters in Shanghai later, resulting in the bookmaker's grain harvest, in this embarrassing situation, Du Yuesheng's maternal uncle and aunt have no way to take care of the whole, and under the last resort, Du Yuesheng can only choose to flow into the society with a group of children of the same age.
For others, the life of no one to care about and no one to ask almost sent those children to a dead end, but for Du Yuesheng, this became a major turning point in his life.
In the streets and alleys of Gaoqiao Town, because he is more mature than his peers, Du Yuesheng has become the leader of this group of people, with a group of idle wild children, wandering in the gambling booths of major tea houses, doing the work of open robbery and secret robbery.
In the middle of The town of Gaoqiao, there is a tea house called Kelaixiang, a tea house in Jiangsu and Zhejiang, and generally has a storyteller, a table, a chair, a ringwood, and a folding fan. When the guests were drinking tea, they heard a "popping" sound, followed by mr. Shushu's depressed voice: "It is said that Cao Mengde saw Guan Yunchang..."
Often at this time, Du Yuesheng, who was as weak as a monkey, wearing a torn dress, leaned under the window sill of the tea house and listened with relish.
There are wild children who want to rub the book to listen, but the boss does not agree, let the guys come out to catch up. Don't look at Du Yuesheng's thin and small, but the courage is not small, he directly negotiated with the boss on the terms: If you let me hear about the book, I guarantee that your shop is safe and secure, otherwise, wait and see.
When the boss heard this, he also played drums in his heart, all of them were in the town, Du Yuesheng was a person, he was not unclear. Instead of causing trouble, it is better to be a smooth person. The boss agreed, but there were conditions, the condition was: a dime a month to listen to the book, and only allowed to listen outside, not allowed to enter the hall to disturb the guests.
In this way, Du Yuesheng became a loyal fan of Mr. Kelai Xiang Tea House Storyteller, he loved to listen to "Three Kingdoms" the most, wind and rain, never pulled down a section, and sometimes even repeated and repeated listening, never tired of listening. Hearing the wonderful thing, he laughed and shouted, "Very good, very good!" ”
Everyone else thought he was a madman, but the wonders in it were known only to him.
Later, he talked to Zhang Taiyan about the Three Kingdoms, saying that the person he admired most since he was a child was Cao Cao in the Three Kingdoms, who not only blackmailed the Son of Heaven and ordered the princes, but also rewarded those who had meritorious deeds, so his advisers and generals were like clouds.
And modern people look at the Three Kingdoms, how many people can understand it?
Whenever there was a drama in the town, as long as it was playing "Three Kingdoms", he occupied the position early and stared at it without blinking.
He has loved watching drama since he was a child, and often said to his friends: "When I grow up, I must sing well!" ”
Later, he went to the beach to collect donations, and in that charity performance, he decided to show his face as well and vote for a play. In order to shake off the style, Du Yuesheng specially customized a set of beautiful lines that are rare in the history of the Peking Opera industry, the helmet is made of rhinestones, and a Xiang embroidery is finely tailored, this scene appears 4 times, he also made 4 sets of lines, and the famous Miao Shengchun helped him dress. In order to look good, his ticket sold for ten yuan a piece, which was twice as expensive as the ticket price of Peking Opera master Mei Lanfang.
As long as he can get a bite to eat, he has really done everything. To paraphrase a phrase that is more popular now, it is a scourge that this product is proper.
But it was not the right time, in that era, for a bite to eat, these tricks were nothing at all, and in my opinion, if we really threw a group of bad teenagers in modern society into that era. Not to mention whether you can turn over some waves, it is certain that there is not even a bone slag left to be eaten.
Seeing the waves of the sky in the major casino teahouses, it is not impossible to be a person who comes out of the mud without staining, but it is definitely not something that everyone can do.
Although Du Yuesheng later became a veritable big man, but at this time, he was only eleven or twelve years old, and the temptation of all kinds of money was constantly passing in front of his eyes, so that such a small child could resist the temptation, which was impossible.
Take the various electronic products in today's society, a two- or three-year-old child can skillfully operate tablets and mobile phones, and it is out of control. It is conceivable that in the era when you did not have enough to eat, did not wear warm clothes, and had no next meal, the ticket of white flowers was placed in front of you, not tempted, it was absolutely nonsense. I think that if it is placed in the past of modern people, the green light of the eyes may not be too good, but the possibility of seeing the sky to gamble is not low.
