"Black Rain" Meteorologist in Southern Brazil: Suspected to be linked to the Pantanal Wetland Fire

According to residents of Nanda River State, since last Friday (11th), the local sky has been overcast, the clouds are gray-black, and even the daily rainfall is muddy and black. Meteorologists believe that because the Pantanal wetland in the mato grosso state of western Brazil is currently experiencing the worst fire on record, the fire has now extended to the southern state of Mato Grosso to the south of Mato Grosso and reached the northern part of the southernmost state of Rio Grande do Sul in Brazil. The aerosol formed by a large amount of smoke rising into the air becomes the condensation nucleus of the rain cloud, and after encountering humid cold air, the rainwater with the smoke as the condensation core falls, and the color of the rainwater will be black-brown.

Meteorologists say further analysis of the composition of the black rain is needed before it can be determined that the local black rain is related to the Pantanal wetland fire. (Reporter Tang Ye)
