In 2021, as part of the collaboration between Mexican businesses LEGORTA and Del Mauricio Rocha + Gabriela Carrillo, the ground will be broken by the new Four Seasons Resort Tamarin in Mexico. The new plant will sit on 800 hectares of Pacific coastline in Jalisco, between La Manzanilla and Barra de Navidad. Known as the "Costa Alegre Coast" or "Happy Coast", the area is known for its private beaches, scenery, and geography.
The facility will be located in the ecological reserve 40 km north of Manzanillo Airport. Most of the 155 rooms will enjoy unobstructed panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean and the surrounding forests and golf courses. The resort's architectural design, guided by the Mexican companies LEGORRETA and Taler Mauricio Rocha + Gabriela Carrillo, aims to link the structure to the surrounding landscape and includes locally sourced materials and textiles.
The resort is part of an overall development plan that includes 849 hectares (2,100 acres) of El Tamarindo land with multiple private beaches and bays. The layout of the property takes full advantage of the sloping terrain from sea level to above 120 meters (394 feet) above sea level with unobstructed views of the surrounding landscape, golf courses, and ocean. The resort is suitable for single adult travelers as well as families with children.
The resort will offer four dining options, including a golf course, all of which include a bar with sea views. Facilities include three swimming pools, a full-service spa located in the middle of the rainforest, gymnasium, water sports centre, tennis courts and 370 square meters of meeting space. The award-winning 18-hole golf course, designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr. and David Fleming, is the highest of all on offer at the resort.
The resort is just 40 minutes from Manzanillo International Airport, which has daily flights from Mexico City and even direct flights from the U.S. and Canada during high seasons.
