Canal River flood orange warning! Super-historical floods occurred at the upper Bixi and Tongjiang stations

The Hydrological Bureau of the Ministry of Water Resources and The Hydrological Bureau of the Ministry of Water Resources and The Ministry of Water Resources upgraded and issued an orange warning for flooding in the Canal River at 10:00 on July 11, 2021, and issued a blue warning for flooding in the lower reaches of the Jialing River.

Affected by concentrated heavy rainfall, a larger water rise process occurred in the Qujiang River, and super-historical floods occurred at the upstream Bixi and Tongjiang stations. At 10 o'clock on the 11th, the water level of Sanhui Station was 261.76 meters (the guaranteed water level was 261.14 meters, and the corresponding flow was 21100 cubic meters per second), the water level of Luoduxi Station was 212.69 meters (the corresponding flow was 8450 cubic meters per second), and the water level of Beibei Station was 182.94 meters (corresponding flow rate was 9410 cubic meters per second). Considering the rainfall and upstream water situation in the foreseeable period, it is expected that the water level of Luoduxi and Beibei stations will rise rapidly, and the water level of Luoduxi Station will exceed the guaranteed water level (222.00 meters) at 2 o'clock on the 12th, and the maximum guaranteed range on the 12th will be 2 to 2.5 meters; the peak flow of the Beibei Station on the 12th will be 25,000 cubic meters per second, and the maximum water level will be about 193.2 meters (the alert water level is 194.50 meters).

The Hydrological Bureau of the Ministry of Water Resources and the JiangSu Water Conservancy Commission has drawn the attention of relevant units and the public in the Qujiang River and the lower reaches of the Jialing River to take precautions. (CCTV reporter Ni Jingyi)
