Medical Saint Zhang Zhongjing

the biography of Zhang Zhongjing and the Treatise on Typhoid Fever

A few days ago, the introduction of the half-summer laxative heart soup for the treatment of real fire mouth sores and the jade girl frying of false fire mouth sores came from the Eastern Han Dynasty physician Zhang Zhongjing, one was "On Typhoid Fever", and the huanglian Ejiao soup shared today also came from the "Treatise on Typhoid Fever" of the doctor Saint.
So, today, we may wish to briefly introduce the doctor Zhang Zhongjing and his "Treatise on Typhoid Fever".
Zhang Zhongjing, a native of Nanyang in the Eastern Han Dynasty, was a great physician in ancient China and a great man in the history of medicine in the world.
Zhang Zhongjing grew up a good doctor, and in his early years he studied medicine with Zhang Bozu, and after years of specialization and practice, he was known as a local doctor. Zhang Zhongjing survived at the end of the Eastern Han Dynasty, a turbulent era in Chinese history, with frequent wars, epidemics of plague, displacement of the people, and lack of livelihood. In less than ten years, Zhang Zhongjing, a large family of more than two hundred people, only less than one-third of them died of typhoid fever due to Wenyi's illness. Therefore, although Zhang Zhongjing was very sad and indignant in his heart, during his tenure as the Taishou of Changsha, he still practiced medicine in the lobby, performed medical treatment for the people, and worked hard for the well-being of the public, and finally became an outstanding medical scientist in the history of Chinese medicine.
Today, we collectively refer to doctors who treat people in pharmacies and clinics as "sitting hall doctors", which comes from Zhang Zhongjing's practice of medicine in the lobby.
Later, Zhang Zhongjing resigned from his official post in Changsha, immersed himself in the diagnosis and treatment of typhoid fever, conscientiously summarized the medical theories and experiences of his predecessors, extensively collected folk test prescriptions, and wrote "On Typhoid Fever and Miscellaneous Diseases".
"On Typhoid Fever" is the earliest clinical diagnosis and treatment of Chinese medicine monograph in connection with the theory of traditional Chinese medicine in China, which systematically interprets the pathogenesis, symptoms, occurrence and development of typhoid fever and the diagnosis and treatment methods, and creatively establishes the dialectical treatment principle of typhoid fever, laying the theoretical foundation for the theory, method, prescription and medicine of typhoid fever system disease. The book records more than 300 selected prescriptions, each of which is more refined and the main diagnosis is clear. After experiencing the clinical practice of the generation of doctors, I felt that the efficacy was confirmed. Many of the later sutras evolved from the sutras contained in the Treatise on Typhoid Fever.
"On Typhoid Fever", melting the rational prescription medicine in one furnace, opening up the precedent of dialectical treatment, forming a unique medical ideological system of traditional Chinese medicine, which has a huge role in promoting the development of subsequent generations of Traditional Chinese medicine schools.
And the Huanglian Ejiao soup introduced today for the treatment of false fire mouth sores comes from the "Treatise on Typhoid Fever".
Typhoid fever theory

Huanglian Ejiao soup, less yin yin virtual fire wangzheng commonly used party

Huanglian Ejiao soup, for the traffic heart kidney agent. It has the effect of supporting yin and dissipating heat. Fang is from the "Treatise on Typhoid Fever", which states that the original Fang was the main treatment of "shaoyin disease, two or three days, the heart is troubled, and it is not allowed to lie down."
Huanglian Ejiao soup, the square is composed of Huanglian, Ejiao, Skullcap, White Peony, and Chicken Yellow. It has the effect of nourishing yin and clearing heat, nourishing yin and lowering fire, and is a commonly used recipe for curing the lack of yin and yin and false fire.
So, why can Huanglian Ejiao soup treat false fire mouth sores?
For thousands of years, the various parties in Traditional Chinese medicine have different understandings of the etiology and pathogenesis of recurrent aphthous sores, but in general, they are divided into empirical deficiencies, regardless of empirical or hypochondria, and more people think that "hot" is a common pathological factor for the occurrence of aphthous sores.
The false evidence is mainly due to the factors of body yang deficiency, or excessive post-illness fatigue, true yin loss, injury to the heart and kidneys, insufficient yin fluid, false fire delusion, and inflammation of the mouth and the onset of disease.
Therefore, in traditional Chinese medicine, whether it is virtual or real, it is fire poison, which is stuck in the veins and burns the local area, resulting in ulceration of the mucous membrane and the formation of aphthous sores.
Huanglian Ejiao soup, often used in traditional Chinese medicine for heart and kidney deficiency, yin deficiency and fire, heavy upset insomnia, red tongue and dry moss, fine pulses.
Huanglian Ejiao soup, Fangzhong Huanglian Laxative Heart Fire, Ejiao Yi Kidney Water, Skullcap with Huang Lian, then Qing Firepower; Peony Medicine with Ejiao, then Yi Shui Is Strong.
And Huang Lian Ejiao soup recipe is more wonderful in chicken yellow, is to nourish the kidney yin, nourish the heart and blood and calm the spirit, a combination of several medicines, then the kidney water can be strong, the heart fire can be clear, the heart and kidney traffic, water and fire are both good, and the evidence is flat.
Qing Dynasty typhoid scholar Ke Qin, is the Chinese medicine practitioner who interprets the medical saint Zhang Zhongjing's "Treatise on Typhoid Fever" the most outstanding contribution, Ke Qin believes: "This shaoyin disease of the laxative heart soup, all diarrhea heart must be through lian qian, and the guide is different from yin and yang, the disease is in the three yangs, the stomach is not harmonious and the heart is hard, the void is added to the ginseng gan to supplement it, in fact, it is increased under the yellow, the disease is in the little yin and the heart is troubled, neither can use ginseng to help the yang, nor can it use rhubarb to hurt the stomach, use qianlian to directly fold the heart fire, use ejiao to supplement the kidney yin, chicken huang Zuolian, In the heart of the diarrhea to replenish the heart and blood, peony medicine with ejiao, in the tonic yin in the yin to collect yin qi, Si Ze heart and kidney intercourse, water rises and fire descends, is to support the yin and yang of the formula, changed into a nourishing yin and yang agent also. ”
Ke Qin's interpretation of Huanglian Ejiao soup is a classic.
In the clinical practice of modern Chinese medicine, Chinese medical practitioner Chen Bangshi introduced the clinical research of the traditional Chinese medicine Huanglian Ejiao Tanghe Pig Lily Soup for the treatment of recurrent aphthous sores in the article "Huanglian Ejiao Tanghe Pig Tsuen Soup for the Treatment of Recurrent Aphthous Sores" published in September 2001 in guangdong Dental Disease Prevention and Treatment, and introduced the clinical research of him and his colleagues in the treatment of recurrent aphthous sores with Chinese medicine Huang lian ejiao tanghe pig lily soup, and the control group used vitamin B2, vitamin C, tilwa and so on for treatment. The results showed that the total effective rate of the Chinese medicine treatment group was as high as 91.7%, which was much higher than the 59.4% effective rate of the Western medicine treatment control group, and the clinical evidence of the recent satisfactory efficacy of the Traditional Chinese medicine Huanglian Ejiao Tanghe Pig Lily Soup in the treatment of recurrent aphthous sores was obtained.

Huanglian Ejiao soup treated 50 people with chronic aphthous sores and was cured in half a month
Coincidentally, in 1996, Chen Ying and other doctors from the Department of Traditional Chinese Medicine of the First People's Hospital of Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province, also treated 50 chronic aphthous sores with Huanglian Ejiao soup, of which 17 male patients were 33 female patients, the age distribution was 18 to 68 years old, and there were ulcerated surfaces of different sizes in the inner lip and oral mucosa, which were white and yellow in color, red and swollen around them, and pharyngeal congestion.

to take a chestnut: a 50-year-old woman who took Huanglian Ejiao soup internally did not recur for 2 years

Zhang Dajie, 56 years old, has had repeated mouth ulcers for 10 years. He has been treated with antibiotics, vitamin C, vitamin B2, etc., but the effect is not good, and it is recurrent. At the time of initial diagnosis, the oral mucosa appeared gray and white about two large ulcers of soybeans, surrounded by red halos and concave surfaces. Upset, restless at night, short yellow urine, slight thirst, local burning sensation, salty and spicy and hot food is difficult to import. The tongue is red with fine veins.
Taking Huanglian Ejiao soup for 5 consecutive days, the ulcer faded and regressed, and the scope was reduced. After taking it for two more days, the oral pain was significantly reduced and sleep improved. After 5 days of re-administration, the ulcer healed and followed for two years without recurrence.

Why is huanglian ejiao soup so effective in treating false fire mouth sores?

The medicine of the motherland calls recurrent mouth ulcers "chancre", "chycoma", "mouth sores", "mushrooms" and so on.
Although recurrent aphthous sores do not cause serious consequences, they often make it difficult to eat and drink, restless, and restless.
Chinese medicine believes that recurrent aphthous sores are most closely related to the heart, spleen and kidneys.
The tongue is the seedling of the heart, the spleen is open to the mouth, and today's items are greatly rich, and people like to eat spicy and hot products, which often leads to heart and spleen heat; it hurts the kidney yin, and the false fire is inflamed, resulting in the attack of aphthous ulcers.
Recurrent aphthous sores are longer, often characterized by yin deficiency and fiery heat.
Chinese medicine uses the virtual to make up for it, and the real to make up for it.
Huang Lian's Jiao Tang Fang produced "On Typhoid Fever", although the original party was set up for the heating of the yin and the restlessness of the heart. However, Fang Zhongqian lian folded its fire straight, ejiao, chicken yellow nourished the kidney yin, peony clear heat yin. Huanglian Ejiao soup nourishes water and fire, clears heat and calms the heart, deeply conforms to the purpose of "yin and yang secret", does not hinder evil, clean does not hurt the right, and complements each other.
From this point of view, it is not unusual that several of the above clinical cases can achieve good efficacy.
