17 2nd Shogunate - Muromachi Shogunate

author:Amphili

In the first year of Jianwu, the Han Guangwu Emperor Liu Xiu ascended the throne as emperor, and the Eastern Han Dynasty began, thus extending the throne for more than 200 years. More than a thousand years later, Japan, which was far away in the East, also had an emperor with the era name of "Jianwu", which was Emperor Go-Daigo, whose purpose was to emulate Emperor Guangwu of Han and revitalize the imperial family. Yesterday we talked about the destruction of the Kamakura shogunate and the return of Emperor Go-Daigo to Kyoto, and at this time he was full of vigor and felt really good about regaining power, so this time he wanted to overthrow the old system and establish a new policy, which is the famous "New Deal of Kenbu" in Japanese history, but the ideal is very full of reality and very bone, and Emperor Go-Daigo has offended almost all classes after a riot.

First of all, the Guanbai system was abolished, and the emperor felt that these people were always pointing fingers at themselves and affecting administrative efficiency, so he opened them, and thus offended the entire class of secretaries of state. Fortunately, these literati did not make much effort in the process of overthrowing the Kamakura shogunate, so they did not have much say at this time. Then there was the samurai class, and Emperor Go-Daigo was able to return to Kyoto, and the two people I would like to thank most were Ashikaga Takashi and Nitta Yoshisada, both of whom belonged to the samurai class. Logically, at this time, if the emperor wanted to consolidate the imperial power, the most important thing to rely on was the samurai class, but the emperor offended them the most. After Emperor Go-Daigo came to power, he vigorously implemented the New Deal, the main content of which was to redistribute all land. However, the main purpose of the samurai war was to protect the land property, and at this time, the emperor ordered that the previous land ownership was not counted, and the samurai were busy in vain, and naturally hated the emperor to the bone. After Emperor Go-Daigo came to power, he considered ashikaga Takashi to be the first in merit, so he gave him the "zun" in his name "Zunzhi" and changed his name to Ashikaga Zunshi. Originally a descendant of Genji, the Ashikaga clan rebelled against the shogunate because the Kamakura shogunate established by Genji was controlled by the Hojo clan, so they were driven away. However, the Ashikaga clan did not feel that the shogunate system was not good, but that the Kamakura shogunate of the Hojo family was not good enough, and he wanted to establish a new shogunate himself. Therefore, taking advantage of the opportunity to go out of the city to suppress the rebellion, he re-established a new shogunate on the site of the Kamakura shogunate, which was the second shogunate in Japanese history, the Muromachi shogunate.

At the same time, with the establishment of a new emperor as a puppet and the self-proclaimed orthodoxy, Japan temporarily had two emperors and two imperial courts, thus entering a brief period of the Northern and Southern Dynasties.

Where will the rest of Japanese history go? Pay attention to me, here is the front of Japan, let's continue to talk about the next issue ~
