Dai Shangao is 75 years old, a native of Longchang, and has loved art since childhood. In 1961, he graduated from junior high school and was admitted to Longchang Normal School, and after graduation, he was assigned to work in the Propaganda Department of the Longchang County Party Committee at that time, "In 1972, the county set up a news reporting group, and the leaders felt that I had a foundation in art, so they asked me to learn photography and engage in news reporting. Dai Shangao recalled, "In fact, I don't know photography, so I looked at the photos in the People's Daily and Sichuan Daily." ”

Later, Dai Shangao took the master of the photo studio as a teacher and learned photography techniques, "The master was very good to me and taught me hand in hand. "Aperture, shutter, focus, composition, use of light... Soon, Dai Sangao mastered the basic techniques of photography. At that time, the conditions were very poor, there were no safety lights in the dark room, and in the dark environment, he touched the master's hand to learn to rinse the film.

In 1978, a newsletter he wrote entitled "This Rice Dumpling Is Well Served" was selected as a press release by Xinhua News Agency, and the Xinhua correspondent was marked before the signature. Dai Shangao said that after that, many of the photos and articles he took and wrote were selected by people's dailys, economic dailys, workers' dailys, farmers' dailys, sichuan dailys, etc.
In 1979, the Neijiang Area Established a Cultural Center, and Dai Shangao was transferred to the Neijiang Cultural Center as a full-time photographer, responsible for the photography training, counseling and creation of the mass culture in the Neijiang area. Since then, his footprints have spread all over Neijiang, and the cultural activities of the masses have been carried out with great success.
"Going to the sea" made the tide famous in one fell swoop
With the tide of reform and opening up, Dai Shangao became a "person who went to the sea". In 1988, he and his wife opened a photo gallery called "Shangao Film Society", which mainly shoots artistic portraits.
"After so many years of practice, I personally believe that the works must not only be recognized by experts, but also liked by ordinary people." As soon as the film club opened, the citizens who came to take pictures were endless, "Very busy! Sometimes it's two or three o'clock in the afternoon to have lunch. Dai Shangao said, "Portrait photography focuses on both form and god, and the use of light and composition must have a sense of beauty." Before shooting, you have to communicate with customers to study their face shape, head shape, and personal preferences. ”

In 1990, the chief editor of Tianjin Fine Arts Publishing House came to Neijiang and asked Dai Shangao to take a set of swimsuit photos on the wall calendar, "At that time, swimwear was difficult to buy, and finally an advertising company in Chengdu spent 300 yuan to buy one." Dai Shangao took a model and took a set of very fashionable swimsuit photos at The Steep Kan Waterfall, and the other party could not help but exclaim: "Teacher Dai took a very good picture!" Neijiang girl is so beautiful. Soon, the Tianjin Fine Arts Publishing House printed this set of swimsuit photos on the wall calendar for distribution nationwide, and several times out of stock and reprinted.

At the end of the 1970s, the novel "Xu Mao and His Daughters" created by Zhou Keqin, a peasant writer in Neijiang, caused great repercussions across the country. Soon after, he won the first Mao Dun Literature Award.

In 1980, beijing film studios went to Jianyang to shoot the film of the same name. Dai Shangao was invited by Sichuan Pictorial to take photos of Zhou Keqin. "I followed the film crew to shoot in Jianyang for more than 20 days, and also met famous film actors such as Liu Xiaoqing, Yang Zaibao, Li Xiuming, Zhang Jinling and other famous film actors who were extremely popular." Dai Shangao came to Zhou Keqin's home and recorded the daily life and labor of this peasant writer with the camera, "Zhou Keqin is very simple, usually doing farm work and housework at home, and writing at home in her free time. Soon, the Sichuan Pictorial published this group of photos and articles under the title of "Homeland Is Difficult to Leave - Visiting Writer Zhou Keqin" and included them in the "China Publishing Yearbook".

After visiting Zhou Keqin, Dai Shangao followed the film crew to continue the visit. Between shootings, Dai Sangao used the natural light of the window to take a portrait of Yang Zaibao at a speed of 1/8 second, showing his resolute personality. Immediately, he returned to Jian Yang's friend's house to rinse the film, and enlarged a 5-inch photo to give to Yang Zaibao, "Unexpectedly, Yang Zaibao said that it was his most satisfactory portrait at present." The next day, Dai Shangao rushed back to the county seat and put three 12-inch photos for him.

In 1981, the Tuojiang River suffered a huge flood that had not been encountered in a hundred years, "I got up in the morning, and the Ximen Bridge was sealed!" Never seen such a big flood. "Dai Shan gao picked up the camera and filmed along Heba Street, Inverted Bay, Nei Cotton Factory, Diexiang Street, Blacksmith Street, Park Street, East Railway Station and other places, and almost fell into the water with one foot in the middle." What a blessing! If you fall down, the consequences are unimaginable. For more than 20 consecutive days, Dai Shangao used his lens to record the precious pictures of the military and civilians in Neijiang fighting floods and resuming production. Today, these photographs have become precious historical images of Neijiang.
In the past 50 years of photography career, Dai Shangao has published a large number of works in photography professional newspapers and periodicals and various newspapers and periodicals in China, and many works have won awards in various film festivals across the country. As the earliest member of the Neijiang Chinese Photographers Association, Dai Shangao served as the chairman of the Neijiang Young Photographers Association from the 1980s to the chairman of the Neijiang Photographers Association for two consecutive terms in the 1990s. In more than 20 years of photography organization work, he has worked hard to cultivate new photographers, and Neijiang Photography has achieved fruitful results. He was awarded the title of "Chinese Photography Master" by the Chinese Photography Society and was elected as a director of the Chinese Photography Society. In 1995, he was awarded "Outstanding Scientific and Technological Talents with Outstanding Contributions in Neijiang City" by the Neijiang Municipal Party Committee and the Neijiang Municipal People's Government, and in 1999, he was rated as "Neijiang City Cross-century Virtue and Art Shuangxin Writers and Artists" by the Propaganda Department of the Neijiang Municipal Party Committee and the Municipal Federation of Literature and Literature.
