There is a "house under the sky" that stands for 5,000 years, and a national treasure faience pottery double pot has been unearthed here, which is known as the "village under the stars"... A few days ago, the "China on the Mother River" network theme activity interview group walked into the Dahe Village Ruins Museum located in the northeast of Zhengzhou to explore the splendid ancient culture created by the ancestors.

5,000 years ago, the ancestors of Zhengzhou lived in "three rooms and one hall"

Dating from 6800 to 3500 years ago, the site of Dahe Village is a large ancient settlement site containing four archaeological cultures of Yangshao, Longshan, Xia and Shang, and the ancestors have lived here for more than 3300 years.

As a landmark site of the origin of Chinese civilization, the DaheCun site participated in and witnessed the whole process of the origin, formation and development of Chinese civilization until the establishment of the Xia and Shang slave dynasties.

The most striking of the ruins is the Yangshao cultural housing foundation. Amazingly, although it has been more than 5,000 years, it still retains a complete floor plan and walls of more than 1 meter high, which is recognized by the archaeological community as "the first house in the world", and its excavation has laid the basic shape of traditional residential architecture in northern China.

Among them, there is also a suite in the foundation of room 1. According to the docent, the site reflects that the ancestors of Zhengzhou lived in "three rooms and one hall" 5,000 years ago.

How is such a strong house built? The ancestors adopted the construction method of "wood bone plastic", with wood as the bone, grass as the tendon, and after the mud masonry was completed, like firing pottery, the whole house was calcined with fire inside and outside.

Faience double pot: "A pot of wine at the intersection of life and death"

A large number of exquisite faience pottery has been excavated from the site, with brilliant colors and rich patterns, which is unique in Yangshao culture. The national treasure faience pottery double pot was excavated here, showing the superb skills of the ancestors of Dahe Village.

Experts have researched that the double pot is a sacred ceremonial item, which should be the instrument of the tribal leader and the elder drinking when the two tribal clans are in alliance or major ceremonial activities, which is a symbol of peace, friendship, respect and affection, which can be described as "a pot of wine at the intersection of life and death".

"Convergence of deeds, thousands of miles." The faience double pot, from the earth, has been blended by water and fire, giving birth to the sum of tribal relations. Six thousand years, as if in an instant, the village has become a country, the lines have become a painting, and the peaceful aspirations of the ancient people have never changed. The cultural relics documentary "Treasures of the Central Plains" said so.

Excavations have also unearthed pottery and pottery grates similar to cake bells and steaming drawers.

In addition, the celestial patterns such as sun patterns, sun halo patterns, and constellation patterns found on pottery are the earliest known astronomical physical materials in China, showing the ancestors' cognition and perception of the cosmic world, so this village is known as "the village under the stars".

The layers of thick soil at the site of Dahe Village are like a wordless history book, recording how the seeds of civilization were sown, sprouted, and thrived. As stated in the preface of the museum's exhibition, the great river is brilliant and starry, illuminating the footprints of The progress of Chinese civilization.

Since its discovery in 1964 and the first excavation in 1972, the ruins of Dahe Village have been excavated 26 times so far, accounting for only about one-seventh of the total area, and there are more secrets waiting to be discovered.
