A sudden violent incident made the life of Zhou Chunmei, a female judge of the Hunan High Court, forever frozen at the age of 45.
On January 12, one of the most ordinary weekdays, in the underground garage in the early morning, a pair of evil hands stabbed at the defenseless Zhou Chunmei, and she fell into a pool of blood.
The perpetrator, Xiang Mou, was her classmate, and because of a labor dispute, she constantly asked Zhou Chunmei, who was a judge, for help. After being rejected many times, he resented a certain person and took revenge.
On March 23, Zhou Chunmei's former colleagues, family members and parties who had only one side of her relationship tearfully told their story with Zhou Chunmei.

The first "decade": Through her, I saw the light
In Zhou Chunmei's desk drawer lay quietly a handwritten letter: "Honorable Judge Zhou. We have received the administrative rulings, and you have spent a few months making these facts so clear, and you are good judges of the people. Our whole group of villagers admires your efficiency and your style of not being afraid of the powerful. On behalf of our group, we would like to express our deep respect to you. ”
Two carefully flattened pieces of crumpled red letter paper, written by a man named Song Yiming, were written on January 13, 2018.
Behind the handwritten letter is a case of "civil sue" caused by a land tenure dispute.
In 1962, the second company of the Shibanqiao Brigade of Zhouping Commune in Zhuzhou County was decomposed into three production teams: Lishuitang, Songjiawan and Zuishang. The disputed plot is called Shibeiling, and the above three production teams all believe that the disputed plot belongs to the collective land of the production team, which caused the dispute between the three parties. After the dispute arose, the former Zhouping Township Government, the County Land Bureau, and the Legislative Affairs Office of the County Government organized many unsuccessful consultations between the two sides. On August 26, 2011, the Songjiawan Group and the Lishuitang Group applied for confirmation of rights on August 29, 2011.
On May 24, 2016, the Zhuzhou County Government made an administrative decision confirming that the ownership of the two pieces of land in dispute belonged to the Collective Ownership of the Songjiawan Group on the grounds that the Songjiawan Group had become the actual users and managers of the disputed land and had been in existence for more than 20 consecutive years. On September 19, 2016, the Zhuzhou Municipal Government reviewed and upheld the administrative decision.
The Lishuitang Group was not satisfied with the reconsideration decision, so it filed an administrative lawsuit with the court, requesting that the corresponding administrative decision be revoked, and the Songjiawan Group return the ownership of the land and compensate for the losses.
At that time, the leader of the Pear Pond Group was Song Yiming. "She certainly didn't know me, but her death was our loss." Ten years have passed since the beginning of the rights defense. For Song Yiming, the picture of the trial is still vivid, he is not good at words, but he always remembers that the female judge who sat on the trial bench 3 years ago was "full of light." ”
"Our group has no money, that is, I came as a representative and fought all the way to the high court." Song Yiming described the scene at that time in simple words, and Judge Zhou Chunmei acted very fair and professional. "On that occasion, she was able to raise an objection to the government, and through her, I had no dark feelings about this society."
Zhou Chunmei's colleague introduced that during the review of this case, Zhou Chunmei patiently explained the law and reasoned for the common people, moved them with affection, understood the reason, and "confirmed" the land rights to the hearts of the peasants.
After receiving the ruling sent back for retrial, Song Yiming wrote his true feelings on the letter. Song Yiming said that in fact, on the way home from the trial, he decided to write such a letter, and at that time he thought, because he believed in Judge Zhou Chunmei, no matter how the case was decided, they would be convinced.
The second "decade": two hours to resolve the ten-year battle of wills
"The lawsuit has been going on for ten years, and we haven't seen each other in the process. He was my apprentice, and I didn't want to see this guy and felt that he was ungrateful because of a little money. ”
In 2006, Dai Changgen and his apprentice Yang Xiuzhi collaborated on project development, and because of the distribution of benefits, the two sides completely broke down. Dai Changgen did not expect that Zhou Chunmei only spent two hours to mediate, grasped the key factor of "love", and opened the knot of the two people's hearts for ten years.
In 2004, Dai Changgen and Yang Xiuzhi and others partnered to form a company for project development, and in 2008, Yang Xiuzhi withdrew from the company because of his concept. After the signing of the withdrawal agreement, after the company returned 592,000 yuan to Yang Xiuzhi, the balance of 1.53 million yuan has not been paid. After the case reached the court, the court of first instance ordered Dai Changgen to pay Yang Xiuzhi 1.53 million yuan and interest, and the second instance rejected Yang Xiuzhi's claim. The two sides then quarreled with the Hunan High Court, and the case reached the hands of Zhou Chunmei, who first organized mediation between the two sides.
Dai Changgen said that because of his gamble, he had never participated in the trial in ten years. That day was the first time he met Yang Xiuzhi after many years.
Ten years of dispute, a mediation that even lawyers on both sides did not hope for. At that time, after listening carefully to our story, Judge Zhou Chunmei quickly grasped the focus of the dispute and analyzed the pros and cons from the perspective of both parties. The knot that caused both of us not to accept defeat was suddenly opened. Dai Changgen admitted that he and Yang Xiuzhi are both bosses, and both sides are "not bad money", that is, to fight for a breath, and it is also this tone that is concerned. "In economic cases, love is very important." Judge Zhou Chunmei firmly grasped this word, impressed us with our previous mentor-apprentice feelings, advised us to adjust the two benefits, and the judgment was two defeats, both of us are bosses, we can't get rich in litigation, and the two of us cooperate to do some business. ”
Zhou Chunmei's spring breeze and drizzle of persuasion entered Dai Changgen's heart. After less than two hours of mediation, Dai Changgen proudly expressed his willingness to pay Yang Xiuzhi 1 million yuan. The two not only reconciled as before, but also immediately went to dinner and discussed the next cooperation.
Computer desktop wallpaper says "Spine does not bend"
There are several eye-catching big characters on Zhou Chunmei's computer desktop wallpaper - "Tell the truth, do practical things, the spine does not bend." In the eyes of everyone, she is a good colleague, a good friend, a good wife, and a good mother.
This Xiang sister Zhou Chunmei, who came from the mountains of western Hunan Province, like her name, is like a plum blossom that silently spits out, "giving more to people, and taking from others is widowed."
Referring to Zhou Chunmei, her former colleague and friend choked up several times, "Chunmei, you are too bad for yourself." "Shortly before she was killed, Zhou Chunmei just had a birthday, she picked a ring, too expensive to buy, planning to buy it with next year's birthday." However, this "and" birthday gift that could no longer be sent became an eternal regret in the heart of Zhou Chunmei's husband.
Zhou Chunmei always wears glasses, tied hair, and dresses plainly. She is strict with herself, dressed simply, and even let her daughter wear the old cotton clothes of her colleagues' children, while she devotes herself to public welfare undertakings but is generous and generous, as an activist of the "Love Time" volunteer team of Hunan Higher People's Court, Zhou Chunmei takes the initiative to pair up to help poor students every year, and uses spontaneously raised love to buy milk powder, diapers and condolences to children in welfare homes and children with leukemia.
At work, Zhou Chunmei is willing to share and help colleagues. At a glance, she could see which judge's assistant had come from the unsigned documents, always considering others and encouraging others, "in the future, be bolder and more confident." She often helped the clerks to collect the file files, and guided them to feel the judge's trial ideas from the order in which the case files were placed. She goes out of her way to instruct the new interns to revise the case report and pass on good habits and judges' thinking to the newcomers.
At Zhou Chunmei's memorial service, the eight characters of "Chunmei withered, Spirit Forever" on the screen pinned people's thoughts and respect for her.
She once dissected her own voice in "I Am a Communist Party Member" after watching "I Am a Fat Mud Under flowers": the original intention is easy to get, and it is always difficult to keep. Zhou Chunmei did it, and she practiced the responsibility and responsibility of a party member in the public service, selfless work, and fair trial. Until the last moment of her life, she did not hesitate to defend the bottom line of the principles she adhered to in her heart with her blood, and abided by fairness and justice.
