
Organized in cooperation with the embassies and diplomatic missions of 19 French-speaking countries in China, the French-speaking Month showcases the best and most up-to-date works of the French-speaking countries and presents a series of colorful and digital activities to Chinese audiences.
This year, the theme of French Month is a tribute to women in French-speaking countries. We will celebrate the diversity of French languages in 25 cities, 18,000 KTV and WeChat platforms in China.
Organized in partnership with 19 embassies and diplomatic representations, a rich and eclectic program presents to the Chinese public the best of Francophone creation in its multiple expressions, fully in line with the concerns of today's world. In 25 Chinese cities as well as on WeChat and in 18,000 karaoke, the French language will be celebrated in its multiple expressions.
As we all know, French is the official language of the United Nations, the European Union and the Olympic Games, the fifth largest language in the world, the third language of commerce, the fourth language of the Internet: nearly 300 million French speakers share the spirit of solidarity, respect and tolerance through the French language. We look forward to witnessing 800 million people speaking French by 2050.

Wu Xin will serve as the publicity ambassador for this year's French Language Month. She is a well-known host of Hunan Satellite TV's "Happy Base Camp", but few people know that she graduated from Dalian University of Foreign Chinese with a major in French.

The "Bever Dictation Contest" will return to WeChat. The WeChat game "Bever Dictation Contest" can be participated in two languages: for all French-speaking Chinese and French-loving people, including beginners, the game allows participants to better understand the French language, French-speaking countries and famous French-speaking women.
The 29 contestants who emerged from the preliminary game stage will participate in the final at the Swiss Embassy in Beijing on 20 March.
The now famous "Pivot Dictation" returns for its 3rd edition on WeChat.Cejeu, offered in Chinese and French, is for everyone, beginners, confirmed, French-speaking or Francophiles. Through a new quiz to discover the French language, the French-speaking world and its famous women, the 29 best players will be able to clinch a place in the final on March 20 at the Residence of Switzerland in Beijing.

The inaugural Francophone hackathon will be co-organized by French Tech and Agorize, a startup specializing in hosting online challenges.
"Hackathon", a combination of the words "hacker" and "marathon", refers to the fact that a team must develop an innovative number game about the French language in a short period of time, and the selected games will be launched in March 2019.

Anouk Le Gunde was nominated for the 2017 Women in Architect Award for designing the Bordeaux Wine Museum, and she is also the co-founder of X-TU Architects, which designed the French Pavilion at Expo 2015 in Milan.

The 3rd French Song Contest
The French Song Contest will celebrate its 18th grand celebration with 50 French songs. All young Chinese aged 18 to 25 with a French proficiency level of at least B1 are welcome to sing their favorite French songs in national competitions.
In 2017, more than 300 contestants from 150 universities and the French Language Alliance added the French Song Contest. They were very lucky to be able to compete in KTV in 200 cities. The winners of each competition receive a trip to experience French culture and bring back a travel diary full of wonderful and touching memories.
The traditional Francophone song contest celebrates its 18th edition this year and returns with a repertoire of 50 songs by female performers! Young Chinese from 18 to 25 years old, learning French and having a minimum B1 level, are invited to give voice to their singing talent. In 2017, more than 300 candidates selected from nearly 150 universities and Alliances Françaises participated in the Francophone song contest, organized in the six Chinese cities where the Francophone presence is the most dynamic. They had the opportunity to prepare their performance thanks to French-speaking karaoke present in more than 200 cities in China. In 2018, the winners will win a trip of tourist and cultural discovery in France.
