author:History little Hanlin

In June 1953, Chen Geng, then vice minister of national defense, took his own special car to the Harbin Municipal Government to do business in order to organize the Harbin Military Engineering College, but unexpectedly, when he was halfway to the road, he was stopped by a traffic policeman.

When the driver just wanted to ask this comrade what was wrong, he did not expect the traffic police to pull the car door and sit next to Chen Geng in the back seat of the car, said a word, sent me to the municipal public office, closed his eyes in the back seat to rest, Chen Geng smiled, and instructed the driver to drive without speaking again. Unexpectedly, after the car arrived at its destination, Harbin launched a series of strike-hard operations, did Chen Geng bring the traffic police to the Public Security Bureau, and what did the strike-hard action have to do with this incident? Xiao Hanlin came one by one for everyone.

General Chen Geng was born in 1903 in Xiangxiang to a family of generals, his grandfather was a General of the Xiang Army in the Qing Dynasty, influenced by the family style, Chen Geng threw himself into the hands of Lu Diping of the Xiang Army at the age of 14 and became a small soldier in the Second Battalion of the Sixth Regiment. For the next four years, Chen Geng followed the troops in the crusade against Wu Peifu, participated in the expulsion of Zhang Jingyao and Zhao Hengti, and also participated in the "War of The Protector of the Law" and the Battle of Xiang'e. Chen Geng himself was promoted to sergeant of the second class.

In 1921, Chen Geng saw the essence of warlord warfare, disgusted with the life of fighting for the warlords, and left the army to come to Changsha to serve as a government clerk while continuing his studies. He also actively participated in anti-imperialist patriotic activities, and the following year, he became acquainted with Mao Zedong and other patriotic youths, not only entering the self-study university founded by Mao Zedong, but also joining the Chinese Communist Party.

After that, Chen Geng became more active in the workers' movement and the revolutionary movement. At the end of 1923, he was secretly admitted to the Army Martial Arts School in Guangzhou, and after going to Guangzhou, he was assigned by the organization to enter the Whampoa Military Academy together with many young people in my party. During his time in school, Chen Geng not only had excellent academic performance, but also often organized activities and published publications, known as one of the "Whampoa Three Masters".

Chen Geng, who was funny and humorous, loved to talk and laugh, mixed up and down the military academy, from the principal and director down to the college teachers, chen geng could not speak. In October 1925, Chen Geng followed Chiang Kai-shek's National Revolutionary Army on the Eastern Crusade against Chen Jiongming, who was not afraid of guns and artillery, and was transferred by Chiang Kai-shek to serve as a guard company commander, at this time the 3rd Division of the Revolutionary Army happened to be completely defeated under chiang kai-shek's command and was beaten by the enemy and fled. Seeing that the general situation had gone, Chiang Kai-shek could not help but shoot himself, but was bitterly dissuaded by Chen Geng and then Chen Geng escaped from the enemy's encirclement with Chiang Kai-shek on his back.

In 1933, Chen Geng was arrested in Shanghai, and Chiang Kai-shek, who had learned of the news, ordered him to be taken to Nanchang, intending to personally persuade Chen Geng to surrender, and Chen Geng always did not give a false word to Chiang, but Chiang Kai-shek still maintained a superficial moderation and treated Chen Geng with courtesy. Just as Chiang Kai-shek was talking at length about the past they had been together, Chen Geng interrupted him impatiently, saying, "If you have any purpose, just say it, you don't have to twist and turn." Jiang smiled and handed Chen Geng a cup of tea for thirty or forty minutes, saying, "Although you have made political mistakes in the past, you can tolerate you in terms of the contributions you have made to our party, and you only need to write a few words here." After handing Chen Geng a pen and paper, Chen Geng waved his pen and wrote: Down with Chiang Kai-shek, down with traitors. Chiang Kai-shek could not hold back any longer, and angrily shouted and ordered the soldiers to put Chen Geng in prison.

Huang Wei, Song Xilian, Hu Zongnan, and other old classmates of the former Whampoa Military Academy, who learned that Chen Geng was imprisoned, interceded one after another, asking Chiang Kai-shek to release Chen Geng. Chiang Kai-shek was also very contradictory, Chen Geng was so talented, or he used to like the student, if he killed, he would definitely be scolded and revenge, and Chiang Kai-shek, who had no choice but to do anything, finally chose to send Chen Geng to Nanjing for cultivation, and sent people to monitor him for a while before he could only let him go.

After Chen Geng left Nanjing, he decided to go to Ruijin in the Central Soviet District, but unexpectedly met Qian Dajun, a teacher at his Whampoa Military Academy, on the train. Chen Geng had planned to pretend not to see it and turn to leave, but he did not expect to be directly stopped by Qian Dajun. Chen Geng could only stiffen his scalp and greet Qian Dajun, and Qian Dajun asked: Why are you in such a hurry? Chen Geng saw that he could not avoid opening his mouth and said that he worked to earn money. This excuse obviously no one believed, and Qian Dajun could not have been unaware that Chen Geng had just escaped from Chiang Kai-shek, and that Chen Geng, one of the Three Masters of Huangpu, could possibly find an ordinary job?

However, perhaps because of the friendship between teachers and students, Qian Dajun saw that Chen Geng was uncomfortable and let him go. Chen Geng, a Communist Party that actively opposed the Kuomintang, was able to be safe and sound twice, and he could be called a friend of many ways.

In terms of military affairs, Chen Geng is not only one of the five tiger generals of our country, but also an important leader of the Central Special Branch, but what impresses people the most is the joy brought to everyone as a pistachio. Chen Geng never hid the matter of saving Chiang Kai-shek, and Kang Sheng once said: If you had killed Chiang Kai-shek in the first place, there would not have been so many things now, but Chen Geng said humorously, Then old Chiang kai, like Liao Zhongkai, has become a martyr, and I have become a counter-revolutionary. These words made several people present can't help but laugh.

Chen Geng's acquaintance with Zhou Enlai also originated from the Whampoa Military Academy. Shortly after the beginning of the school, Zhou Enlai, as the director of the political department, went to the dormitory to inspect, and just when he arrived at the door, he saw a group of people laughing together, Zhou Enlai was curious, and went forward to check, it turned out that there was a student in the middle who was performing to eat noodles, only to see that he was first hungry and sad, and when he saw the noodles, he immediately smiled happily, and ate it with a bowl that did not exist. Someone in the performance found Zhou Enlai, hurriedly stood up and called Director Zhou, but did not expect that Zhou Enlai not only did not criticize them, but also praised the success of the performance, and later let Chen Geng set up the Blood Flower Drama Society.

It is said that a play was rehearsed to satirize the emperor's dream, and because the actress could not be found to play Yuan Shikai's fifth aunt, Chen Geng volunteered and appeared on the stage with heavy makeup, which made the audience laugh more than once. Until 1959, when the first batch of amnesty war criminals of the Kuomintang were released, some huangpu classmates saw Chen Geng who had sent them out of prison and were still talking about it.

In 1953, after the founding of the People's Republic of China, the central authorities planned to set up a professional military academy to cultivate talents in China's military engineering, and this task was entrusted to Chen Geng. After accompanying all the experts on the inspection, the school was finally selected in Harbin. After the school site was determined, the first task was the construction of the teaching staff, Chen Geng selected several famous professors, but also needed the approval of Premier Zhou, helpless Premier Zhou's administrative affairs were too busy, Chen Geng ran several times without finding Premier Zhou, and Chen Geng, who did not give up, simply went to the door of Premier Zhou's house to squat. Finally, I actually followed to the bathroom door, Zhou Enlai saw Chen Geng who followed up, really stunned, and asked her what did you come in for? Chen Geng hurriedly told the premier about the teacher, and the premier was very helpless and said: No matter how anxious you are, you have to wait a while. Chen smiled more proudly and said, I won't be able to find you later, and it is not easy to wait for this opportunity.

In June 1953, for the construction of the school, Chen Geng went to the Harbin government to do business, took his own car, equipped with a special driver, just on the main road in the city, suddenly someone stopped the car, the driver fixed his eyes on a traffic policeman. So I asked Chen Geng in the back seat whether to stop? After Chen Geng signaled to stop, the traffic police actually sat directly in the seat next to Chen Geng and asked the driver to send him to the public security bureau.

This traffic policeman estimated that he did not have much eyesight, sighed that the car was comfortable to sit on, and always wanted to talk to Chen Geng. The driver and the guards in the car ignored him, and the guards shut up.

Not long after the car stopped, the traffic police found that it was not the public security bureau but the municipal government. Just when his face was full of question marks, Chen Geng asked the guards to call the mayor Lu Qien.

After the mayor came down, Chen Geng said to him: This is your soldier, stopped my car, let me send him over, I handed him over to you. Lu Qi'en also understood the origin of the matter, and he was frightened and cold sweat came down.

Soon, under Lu Qien's deployment, Harbin launched an inventory campaign against public servants, especially the police, to severely crack down on abuse of power.

Needless to say, chen geng, as a revolutionary of the older generation, although he was usually kind and humorous, he still could not tolerate the abuse of power and the exploitation of the people.
