As a communist party member on the agricultural front, Xu Chunming, deputy director of the Comprehensive Service Center of the Juye County Agricultural and Rural Bureau, has been in the forefront of agricultural production for 35 years, conscientiously and courageously shouldering responsibilities, devoting himself to the popularization of agricultural technology and peasant education and training, and practicing his dedication and love for the cause of "three rural areas" with youth and enthusiasm.
Concentrate on agricultural scientific research and lead development through innovation
Xu Chunming, who graduated from Shandong Agricultural University in July 1987, has worked in many positions such as township agricultural technology station, county plant protection station, county forestry bureau and agricultural and broadcasting school, and is currently the deputy director of the comprehensive service center of the county agricultural and rural bureau. In 2019, he was selected as the science and technology commissioner of Shandong Province, and although the position has changed several times, the original intention of serving the three rural areas has never changed.
Xu Chunming firmly believes that only by mastering excellent skills can we serve the "three rural areas". She is not afraid of hardships, immersed in the research of new agricultural achievements and new technologies, and has presided over and participated in the completion of 26 scientific research projects, fine seed engineering and achievement transformation projects, including 3 at the provincial level, 10 at the prefecture level, 9 at the county level, and 4 achievements; 37 scientific and technological papers and books, including 25 published, 9 publications at or above the ministerial level, and 16 at the provincial level; 4 textbooks; 5 self-edited textbooks, including the self-compiled "Practical Technology of Grain and Vegetables" from 2016 to 2019. Knowledge analysis of common pesticides and fertilizers, "Practical Technology of Fruit Trees" and other high-quality farmer cultivation teaching materials, rich in content, strong practicality, deeply recognized and loved by farmers; the "New Professional Farmers in Juye County" and "Professional Farmers in Juye County" compiled in 2017-2018 bring together more than 60 examples of outstanding professional farmers to get rich, playing an obvious demonstration and leading role; "Modern Vegetable and Melon Crop Production Technology" and "Modern Grain, Cotton and Oil Crop Production Technology" were published in 2017. It is used as a training textbook for the cultivation skills of high-quality farmers in the city; the "Rural Innovation and Entrepreneurship Leader of Rural Revitalization" published in 2021 is used as a training textbook for high-quality farmer cultivation and management. The fruitful results in the field of scientific research have made her more than comfortable in the fertile field of serving the "three farmers".
Root in the soil of the field and outline the harvest picture
For thirty-five years, she has been in the cold and summer, rain or shine, going deep into towns, villages, fields and fields to mingle with farmers, stepping on the heat wave to guide production, teaching science and technology with mud on her legs, and doing her best to solve problems and do practical things for farmers. In 1990, the outbreak of wheat strip rust, in the face of the dilemma of fungicides being snapped up on the market, Xu Chunming dared to be the first, night and day to lead the villagers in the field to boil a large pot of stone sulfur compound, timely solve the problem of strip rust, help villagers recover major losses, and let farmers see the hope of a bumper harvest.
She undertook 25 new pesticide efficacy trials of the Provincial Drug Inspection Institute; demonstrated and promoted 27 kinds of herbicides in cotton, wheat, corn and vegetable fields; participated in the demonstration and display of 31 new varieties of cotton, wheat, peanuts and soybeans; organized the city's resistant cotton bollworm, resistant sugar beet night moth, American white moth, wheat stripe rust and other major disease and pest control site observation meetings were held in Juye; through the county news, science and technology garden, rural monsoon, rural story meeting and other columns to publicize and report more than 100 issues; on-site to solve more than 1,200 practical problems for farmers. More than 22,000 scientific and technological books and more than 120,000 copies of paper were distributed, and scientific and technological achievements were transformed into productive forces in a timely manner. Over the years, combined with the agricultural law enforcement brigade, it has accepted 67 complaints from farmers such as pesticides, seeds, fertilizers, and pollution, and has recovered more than 6 million yuan in economic losses.
Stimulate the aspirations of the people and help get rid of poverty and become rich
From 2016 to 2017, Xu Chunming served as the first secretary of Zhangjie Village in Dongguantun Town, Juye County, actively striving for 400,000 yuan of poverty alleviation funds, building 5 high-standard greenhouses, leading villagers to develop special cash crops such as leeks and tomatoes, and cultivating pillar industries for Zhangjie Village. From 2018 to 2020, during his tenure as the leader of the poverty alleviation task force in Liuji Village, Wanfeng Town, he helped villagers develop characteristic industries such as peppers and grapes, and led villagers to become rich and well-off.
Talent is the key to rural revitalization. Since 2012, under the impetus of Xu Chunming, a total of 2,100 leaders of new agricultural business entities, more than 2,200 leaders of agricultural science and technology poverty alleviation, 3,500 practical technical personnel in rural areas have been trained, 3,200 poor households have been established, 465 farmer training courses have been held, 205 lectures have been given, and more than 120 new farmers, 42 new farmers, 24 farmers and soil experts, 19 agricultural leading entrepreneurial talents, and 12 leaders have become rich.
"The sword blade comes out of the grinding, and the plum blossom fragrance comes from the bitter cold." Xu Chunming's years of hard work have been highly recognized by the leaders and the masses, and he has successively won the titles of advanced individual and outstanding communist party member in provinces, cities and counties. In 2003 and 2007, he was elected as the representative of the 10th and 11th Party Congresses of Heze City; in 2005, he was awarded the title of "Outstanding Young Intellectuals of Heze City"; in 2018, he was elected as the representative of the 14th Party Congress of Juye County; and in 2021, he was rated as the "Excellent Three Rural Workers" of Shandong Province.
Xu Chunming said that on the road of serving and promoting rural revitalization in the future, we will continue to abide by the life motto of "dedication without hard work, the pursuit of endless ends", take root in the vast countryside to cultivate the "most beautiful scenery", and contribute to agricultural development and farmers' income!
