At the age of 19, Fu Manqiong, who graduated from high school, came to Shenzhen alone to work hard, became a factory girl of a Hong Kong-funded enterprise, started from the grassroots level, and became a management team step by step, at most one person had to manage a team of tens of thousands of people. Two like-minded people who met their husbands in the factory and fell in love set up their own factory in 2003, mainly making hardware plastic and digital accessories.

However, just after taking the stage to start the lecture, Fu Manqiong ushered in the first blow, and one of the angel investors told Fu Manqiong that he was not optimistic about the yuzu tea project and thought that the project would not be successful.
Ending the day's roadshow in a sigh, it also strengthened Fu Manqiong's idea of opening a factory. "Just because I was stimulated by this sentence, my husband also turned to support my idea, he said that since the investors think it is impossible, let's try it, it doesn't matter if we lose millions."
The husband took out the 5 million yuan accumulated at home and accompanied Fu Manqiong back to his hometown of Tai Po to find a factory. The summer of 2014 was unforgettable for Fu Manqiong. Running around Tai Po town under the scorching sun in search of a suitable factory, it took five months from March to August. During this time, they took over the premises of a food processing plant. After moving in, the first three months to be renovated, in December the equipment was bought, in June to get the production license, before the official start. After more than a year, the production line began to be officially put into operation.

"At the beginning, we mainly made grapefruit honey, we only used the skin and meat, and then we did it for about half a year, and found that the product could not be made." Fu Manqiong shared that 35% of the grapefruit is meat, 55% is the skin and the gourd, and the seed and the "white clothes" account for 15%, "At that time, the factory was in the valley, this kind of garbage could not be thrown away casually, thrown away and would pollute the environment, at that time, I thought about it, only a single product is not enough, to find a way to develop more products." ”
Therefore, Fu Manqiong decisively stopped the production line at hand, and the two of them went to South China University of Technology to find professional help and determine a new direction of development. After research and discussion, Fu Manqiong learned that the grapefruit peel can suppress cough and dissolve phlegm, the nuclear can be used for oil extraction, the "clothing" can be used as an organic biological enzyme, but the factory space is limited, it is difficult to cover all the production, in 2015, the restart of the production line, added the new product yuzu crisp and diced fruit, made of peel, the remaining residue is used for biological enzymatic digestion, reduce pollution. Fu Manqiong introduced that in 2017, the production was basically in a stable state, and the team began to develop and produce beauty products. "In the early stage of the experiment, we tried to refine a lot of essential oils from the peel, but there was no other use, and long-term placement was not good, so we discussed how to develop other product lines." Combining the ingredients of grapefruit flowers, the first flower series of beauty products was developed.
Use grapefruit to help local poor households get rid of poverty and become rich
With the increase of production capacity, Fu Manqiong's production line has also been expanding in scale, from the initial team of 10 or so individuals, to now there are more than 30 people, of which more than 90% are female workers. Together with the external cooperatives, the size of the team is much larger than that, and 113 poor households have been trained to increase the source of income for local poor households.
Fu Manqiong introduced that many poor households in the local area do not have jobs, but the family will plant grapefruit, raise bees, and purchase grapefruit through agreements with poor households, organize training activities, and invite poor households to participate in courses in the company to learn if the grapefruit is planted well.
With the help of Fu Manqiong, there are many successful cases, such as the village has disabled people growing grapefruit, but due to its location in the mountainous area, limited mobility and inconvenient transportation, through cooperation with Fu Manqiong Company, there will be special people to collect grapefruit every year. Some elderly people living in the mountains, because their children go out to work, there is no wealthy laborer who can help pick grapefruit and transport grapefruit, Fu Manqiong also arranged for employees to buy them.
