According to Taiwan's "Eastern Sen News Cloud" on 25 December, Ye Junrong, "minister of the interior" of the Taiwan authorities, personally held a press conference on 22 December, announcing that because the "Women's Federation" insisted that the Taiwan authorities should not exercise public supervision over them, the relevant consultations broke the situation, and signed an official document dismissing Gu Yan, chairman of the "Women's Federation" Gu Yanyun (the widow of Gu Zhenfu, former chairman of Taiwan's Straits Exchange Foundation), and Ye Jinfeng, vice "chairman" of the "women's federation." On the 24th, the "Women's Federation" re-elected a new "chairman," and lei Qian, a former "legislator" of the Kuomintang, was finally elected. At the same time, Gu Yanqiuyun issued a statement bluntly saying that the "Women's Federation" knew that by accepting the conditions of the Taiwan authorities, it would be able to avoid being slandered and attacked, "but in this way it has become an accomplice to the improper transformation of justice!" ”
According to reports, Gu Yanqiuyun said through a statement that when he was young, he accompanied his husband to dedicate his heart to society, never seeking personal fame and fortune, and what he thought and did in his heart was nothing more than a better society, especially hoping that those who had devoted themselves to Taiwan and their relatives and families would receive good care; with this in mind, he had been working with a group of mothers of the "Women's Federation" for more than 40 years, working tirelessly and without complaint or regret.
Gu Yan and Qiuyun further said that this group of mothers has been quietly dedicating themselves and not seeking anything in return, but they never expected that since last year, the Taiwan authorities have actually cracked down on the gong and drum of pursuing improper party property, and have also framed the "Women's Federation" as a subsidiary organization of the Kuomintang, with the intention of slandering and planting stolen goods and seizing assets to manipulate the organization.
"Regrettably, the ruling authorities have deliberately smeared and smeared the clear and innocent history of the 'Women's Federation'," Gu Yan said, although the "Women's Federation" has suffered injustices, but it also deeply understands that it must be constantly adjusted and updated with the changes of the times, on the one hand, to solve the burdens left over from history, on the other hand, evolutionary transformation, so it actively consulted with the "Ministry of the Interior" in charge of the affairs of people's organizations, hoping to resolve misunderstandings and move towards a new life.
However, Gu Yanyun turned his words around and pointed out that the "Ministry of the Interior" and the "Party Industry Council" repeatedly pursued and constantly attacked the original sources of funds and the use of the original funds, regardless of the practical difficulties lacking in the long-standing data of the times. What is even more distressing is that in the course of the consultations, the Taiwan authorities have repeatedly used such illegal and improper means as "listing as a Kuomintang affiliated organization," "removing and replacing the 'chairmen'," and "disbanding the organization" to blackmail and intimidate them, with the intention of forcing the "Women's Federation" to submit. According to law, the "Women's Federation" is a people's organization and a political organization, with the independent rights and status conferred by law, and absolutely no one can give and take, arbitrarily decide, and lash out at insult.
Gu Yan said that the "Women's Federation" knew that by accepting the conditions of the Taiwan authorities, it would be free from being slandered and attacked, but in this way it would become an accomplice to the unjust transformation of justice. The "Women's Federation" chose to face the sanctions of these illegal administrative means, because from beginning to end, it only cared about facts, justice, and Taiwan's "rule of law" and democratic system, "the authorities can rudely take away titles and money, what cannot be taken away is justice and courage, the 'Women's Federation' can be dissolved, and what cannot be dissolved is conscience and history." ”
Gu Yan went on to say that now that he is in his nineties, he has absolutely no intention of planning for his own interests, but only the desire to seek happiness for Taiwan and future generations on this land. I and the partners of the "Women's Federation" must not forget their original intentions, muster up courage, and struggle to the end, continue to escort Taiwan forward, take care of the Taiwan army and the families of their families, and vulnerable groups in all aspects. ”
【Background Information】
Taiwan's "Women's Federation" was established by Soong Mei-ling on April 17, 1950, with the purpose of uniting women and caring for military dependents; later it turned to participating in social welfare and promoting peaceful exchanges between the two sides of the strait. Most of the "Women's Federation's" finances come from donations from laborers (during Taiwan's "martial law" period, the Taiwan authorities implemented a rather special additional tax in Taiwan, which was collected from 1955 to 1989), and it was not collected by the "Women's Federation" or the Taiwan authorities to collect taxes. The "party industry association" organized by the DPP after coming to power questioned whether the "women's federation" may be a subsidiary organization of the KUOMINTANG and its assets are improper party property.
