Fortunately, through a hundred years of time and space, back to the smoke-filled era of the early Republic of China, open those yellowed ancient books and surviving archives that record the history of Chongqing a hundred years ago, it is not difficult to find some well-documented and interesting stories about this mysterious figure, thus unveiling its mystery.

Recently, I studied the Republic of China edition of the "Chronicle of Sichuan County" and found that there are still many records about the governor of Zhengdongqin County.
The "Chronicle of Hechuan County" records that he proposed to repair the county chronicle, suppress bandits to clear the countryside, erect monuments to commemorate, and the common people praised Wuli, of which Zhang Senkai spoke highly of him, and in his newly revised "Hechuan County Chronicle", he wrote a long article "To Think about the Preface" to commend his merits. The "Zizhou County Chronicle", "Nanchong County Chronicle", "Baxian County Chronicle" and so on all have records of his deeds.

He was a senator for several years, after several Chongqing mayors, because of busy business, he resigned many times, but the mayors refused, including Mayor Wu Guozhen, who was the mayor of Chongqing from 1938 to 1941, and repeatedly refused to resign because of Senator Zheng's rare knowledge. Senator Zheng put forward many constructive proposals for justice in Chongqing's transportation, taxation, education, rescue and many other public welfare undertakings, which won praise from Chongqing politicians.
