The 12th LG Cup champion Zhou Junxun jiudan
Mr. Ying Changqi passed away this year for twenty years, my wife Zheng Shuqing and I are quite grateful for the promotion and care of Ying Gonggong, I believe that not only us, there are many well-known chess players have been sponsored by Ying Gonggong, if there is no Ying Gonggong's love for Go, Taiwan's Weiqi community may not have today's glory. Go, bigger than the momentum, longer than the qi, these two spirits, just like Ying Gonggong's efforts in Go, he once strongly formulated the "Ying rules", arrogantly funded chess talents, supported the development of Go education and industry for many years, strong, accurate layout, careful and persistent moves, again and again, accumulated the future of Taiwan Go.
The life of Gonggong Ying has created many immortal legends, and it is also the Bole of many chess players. I started learning chess at the age of seven, but at the age of nine, my chess strength began to hit a bottleneck, and my father sent me to the "Prodigy Class" of the Ying Foundation to study, there were many excellent chess players in the class, but because I started learning chess later, my chess strength was not as prominent as theirs. After a year, these excellent chess players are faced with an important choice in life: "give up" or "move forward", that is, should they give up Go and return to normal studies? Or better training in Japan? This choice of one retreat and one advance is still a must for many chess players. Because Taiwan's Go environment and resources are not complete, the risk of sticking to it may not be achieved, but it is a pity to give up. At that time, Zhang Xu, who was training with me, chose to go to Japan, and some other chess players who were better than me chose to give up because of their poor family financial situation or their insecurity about the future of professional chess players. And I, did not go to Japan but did not give up my favorite Go, so I continued to train at the Ying Foundation, until the age of fourteen was promoted to a professional chess player, after becoming a professional chess player, the Ying ChangQi Foundation is like my second home, very warm, often cared for and cared for.
In the second year of training at the Ying Foundation, after the chess players who were better than me left one after another, I became the best child in the prodigy class, so I got more attention, whenever a chess player came from Japan, he would definitely go to Ying Gonggong's home to play chess, and Ying Gonggong always assigned me to play, so I had a lot of opportunities to play against elite chess players, during that period, my chess strength improved rapidly, and the results of the game were booming. One of The wishes of Ying Gonggong in this life is that he hopes that Taiwan's chess players can stay in Taiwan, receive local training, play for Taiwan and win the world championship, whether it is the World Amateur Championship or the World Professional Championship. Unfortunately, I failed to fulfill my father-in-law's wishes in two world amateur competitions, and the professional world champion was only completed ten years after his death (2007).
That time was when I was most carefree. The wife recalled Ying Gonggong and said, "For Ying Gonggong's kindness, I will not be finished in my life!" He is an elder who loves and cherishes talents, and my two brothers have been helped by Ying Gonggong to learn chess in Japan and successfully become professional chess players. "At the age of fifteen, my wife followed in the footsteps of her brothers and became an extremely rare female chess player, and she was also assisted by Ying Gonggong to go to Japan to learn chess, after ten years, but she was not promoted to a professional chess player, and she always said: "I will feel very sorry for Ying Gonggong and failing to live up to his cultivation." At the age of twenty-five, after returning to Taiwan, she did not dare to let Ying Gonggong know, because she did not know what work she could do, so she silently taught chess in Taiwan. Later, teacher Yang Youjia of the Ying Chang Foundation contacted her and asked her if she would like to try her hand at the job of editor of Go magazine, and it was seventeen years after she entered. "In addition to giving me a lot of opportunities, what makes me most useful is his philosophy of life: 'Forgive me and let it go'. He once said that for the unreasonable treatment of others, if it is unintentional, you can first forgive the other party, if you repeatedly violate, you can tolerate it, but when you push yourself to the limit of your own principles, you must defend and protect yourself! We often use these four words to mention ourselves, tolerance and forgiveness, and indeed can avoid many interpersonal conflicts. "Most professional chess players are not good at expression, so "forgive me" is quite useful to us.
When it comes to the development of Go in Taiwan, Ying Gonggong can also be said to be the first person to promote meritorious service, and his name has left a legacy in history. In 1983, Ying Gonggong donated NT$100 million to establish the Ying Chang Period Go Education Foundation in Taiwan, and also founded the Ying Rules, improved chess equipment, etc., and invested millions of DOLLARs every four years to hold the world's highest prize money Ying Cup international tournament since 1988. All this seems to be a special style of his strong personality, but after time, it will be known that this is a visionary layout, because he not only established his own value, but also a construction that is difficult for future generations to surpass.
Twenty years later, I served as the head coach of Taiwan's elite Go team for more than three years, and it was suddenly clear to My Father-in-Law at that time that ying Gonggong was eager to cultivate world champions, often mentioning his fate and repeatedly making love: the meaning of a life is not how much wealth is accumulated, but how to continue the "belief". To this day, the belief of Ying Gonggong is still deeply rooted in my heart.
