China once had one of the top universities in Asia

Today I would like to talk to you about Universities in China.

As we all know, the first university in Asia is the National University of Singapore, which has been ranked first in Asia for three consecutive years, and the second is Tsinghua University. In addition, the top are the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, the University of Malaysia and so on. Tsinghua University in China ranked second. This is already the highest ranking of Chinese universities in Asia.

But in the history of China, there was once a university, ranked first in Asia, from which eight schools were split, each of which was a famous school, and in order to compete for who was the disciple of the Chuan Chuan, the eight schools broke the head for a mysterious stone monument.

This school is National Central University.

China once had one of the top universities in Asia

The academic background of National Central University can be traced back to Nanjing University in Eastern Wu during the Three Kingdoms period. In the Ming Dynasty, there were Guozijian and so on, which can be said to continue to this day, and it can also be said that it is the oldest university in Chinese history.

In modern times, it is the Sanjiang Normal School, that is, the school founded during the period of Zhang Zhidong, the governor of Huguang. Subsequently, Sanjiang Normal School was renamed Liangjiang Normal School. Li Ruiqing is the principal, he is an artist, a calligrapher, he once wrote the name of the school, and then carved into a stone stele. This stele later became the protagonist of the story, and during the Republic of China period, it was changed to Nanjing Higher Normal School, and in 1921 it was renamed National Southeast University. At that time, there were two national comprehensive universities in China, one was Peking University, and the other was Southeast University, so there was the title of Peking University in the north and Dongda university in the south. Peking University is known for literature, and Dongda university is famous for science.

Remember Southeastern University because it is an important player in the later story.

The school was later renamed several times. During the Period of the Nationalist Government, this school was even more powerful.

During the Republic of China period, the school was renamed National Central University, and you can see its status by looking at the name. At that time, National Central University was the best university in China, and Peking University Tsinghua did not surpass it. For example, at that time, the university moved west to Chongqing. Peking University Tsinghua university and some schools do not receive more education funds than the Central National University.

In Chongqing, the then Provisional Government of South Korea was on the campus of CUHK. A campus that includes a national government agency is also a strange thing.

At that time, students took the entrance examination to National Central University as their first choice. In Princeton's 1948 rankings, the university ranked first in Asia. This is the highest position that Chinese universities occupy in Asia.

After liberation, Nanjing was no longer the capital, and the National Central University was certainly not central, but was changed to National Nanjing University, and then the word national was removed and changed to Nanjing University.

In 1952, Chinese schools were adjusted, and based on experience, comprehensive universities were abolished and professional universities were added.

Nanjing University was divided into eight, which are now eight:

The university is now Nanjing University, now Southeast University, Hohai University, Nanjing Agricultural University, now Nanjing Normal University, Northwestern Polytechnical University, Nanjing Forestry University, and the Fifth Military Medical University.

Each of the eight colleges and universities is very good. Admitted to these eight schools, the high school is not a vain study.

But the next question is, who are the disciples of the former National Central University?

Since Nanjing University has been continuing, Nanjing University thinks so, and they have accepted books from students of the former National Central University. However, the site of Nanjing University is not national central university.

Nanjing University is located at Jinling University. Jinling University is also a good university. Nanjing University was formed by the merger of the former School of Arts and Sciences of CUHK and Jinling University. So, is it the academic background of National Central University or Jinling University?

Southeast University believed that they were the disciples of the Chuan Chuan.

Why? Because Southeast University inherited the site. The iconic auditorium belongs to Southeast University, which was built in 1930 and is also a cultural relic.

And let's not forget that Chuo National University was called National Southeast University from 1921 to 1927. When it was split in 1950, the current Southeast University was called Nanjing Institute of Technology. Now it is renamed Southeast University, apparently to trace the academic context.

Who is this?

Then we have to talk about that stone stele, the stone stele handwritten by the first principal of the Liangjiang Academy is equivalent to the dog stick of the Beggar Gang, whoever has it is a disciple of the Chuan Chuan.

So where is this dog-fighting stick?

The Erjiang Normal School monument is now on the campus of NTU.

As I said before, it is Southeast University that inherits the campus, and it is said that this monument should be in Southeast University, so why run to Southeast University? Is this a long leg?

There is a story about this mysterious stone stele.

This is the story of Southeastern University: One dark and windy night in the 1980s, a group of mysterious people came to the southeast university campus, and they came to the place where the stone monument was placed, and then began to carry it. Due to the special work, during the handling process, the stone tablet fell to the ground and broke into two pieces, but they still transported the stone to Nanda. It can now be seen that the stele is cracked.

The story about NTU is this: after the adjustment of the department, NTU did not have time to move the stone monument, but stayed on the campus of the Fourth Arch Building. At that time, the students of NTU heard the news that someone was going to smash the stele, and Southeast University did not seem to intend to preserve it. Nanda is very anxious, this is a precious cultural relic. Therefore, they moved this stone monument to the Nanda Drum Tower Campus. But it was a little late, and the stele was already damaged.

After transporting it back, they buried the stele in the ground and did not dig it up and put it up again until the 1980s.

This is the story of this stone tablet. I don't know which one is true, but one of the stories is definitely false.
