What was I thinking when I fractured my bones? Lin Chiling's speech inspired me, and it turned out that it was mindfulness

I used to have the impression of Lin Chiling as "baby tone", and when I accidentally saw a speech during a fracture and recuperation, it changed my impression of her and felt the "gentle power"; when I learned and practiced mindfulness, I realized that the original way of getting along with pain was a kind of "mindfulness".

In January 2016, the south suffered from a cold wave of rain and snow that had not been seen for many years, and on a frozen day of minus ten degrees, I fell heavily to the ground on the way to work, although I felt breathless at the time, but after being pulled up, I endured the pain for a day shift, that night, the pain intensified, and the next day I went to the hospital for examination, and the eighth section of the thoracic spine was fractured.

The unexpected injury made me a little disappointed in the busy habits, and then accepted, I could only obey the doctor's advice, I had to put down everything, lie quietly in bed, could not go to work, could not participate in club activities, could not read, could not yoga, could not go out, and spent the Spring Festival in a quiet lie. Thank you Mom and Dad for a month and a half of meticulous care and companionship. During the first week of my injury, I couldn't sleep quietly, so I distracted myself and learned to grow by listening to the radio and watching videos on my phone.

A video of Lin Chiling's speech attracted me because she talked about her experience of falling multiple fractures from her horse during her acting. After listening to the whole speech, I changed my original impression of Lin Chiling's weak hair, was deeply moved, and felt that Lin Chiling was gentle as water, strong and optimistic, and used wisdom and kindness to interpret the unique charm of her life.

In her speech, Lin Chiling said—

By the time I opened my eyes, I realized I couldn't move and I was injured. And there was a huge, huge pain. The injury, which started one centimeter below the heart, had six ribs and fractured fractures in seven places. In other words, if you were to go up a centimeter, there would be no me now.

When I arrived at the hospital, the doctor said that a broken rib was the biggest pain in the body. He told me you had to put up with it. I asked him, is this going to be okay? He said yes, and then I never cried out a single pain again, and I never shed a tear again. Because I wanted all my energy to repair my own body, even if it was a pain to take a breath. Then the next few days, when I was in pain to the point of unconsciousness, I told myself, I want to live with this pain, I want to live with it. Maybe it will be better tomorrow after a good night's sleep.

I'm thankful for everything that has happened so far, for everything. What I want to share with you here today is that if we could all change our minds and attitudes, the result might be different. Don't use anger to stop you from moving forward, we can communicate with gentle words. When people have this kind of good interaction, you will find that when you give, you like yourself more. Then you will have the goodness that grows in your heart, and the energy of this happiness. Today I have the strength that grows in my bones.

Hopefully, in the future, we can all use the power of moderation to change together. Don't use the power of anger to regret. After every setback, blossom into your own flowers.

Lin Chiling, who has experienced an accidental horse crash and once had her life hanging on the line, can better understand the helplessness of this life, know more deeply how important the encouragement of others is, and understand more clearly that only strong can be reborn. During the speech, Lin Chiling always maintained a confident smile, whether it was the calmness felt in her voice or the sincerity revealed in her tone, it was so kind and natural. She said, "I'm going to live with this pain." Use gentle force to change, don't use the power of anger to regret. "It's a mindful attitude.

In 2018, I started practicing mindfulness. Looking back at the experience of fractures and the way you get along with pain is self-healing mindfulness-based stress reduction therapy.

Mindfulness-based stress reduction therapy is a course developed by Dr. Kabakin on the basis of traditional mindfulness practice and introduced to mainstream medicine in the late 1970s to help some patients with chronic conditions improve their symptoms and improve their quality of life by opening stress reduction clinics in hospitals, which is now widely accepted by mainstream medicine.

Now, mindfulness practice has evolved into a lifestyle. In some areas, people suffering from chronic pain and facing the stress of fast-paced life and work practice mindfulness meditation in a variety of ways. In daily life, when we encounter physical pain, we learn to heal ourselves with mindfulness.

The first is acceptance. Accept the status quo, do not regret the past, do not fear the future, use the resources of the present, and gently change.

The second is coexistence. With your body, your breath, your pain, you don't avoid it, you feel it. Through mindfulness practice, the source of control is transferred from the outside "Pain is happening to me, and there is nothing I can do about it" to the inside "Pain is happening to me, and at the same time I can choose its relationship with me." "Learn to deal with pain in new ways and improve quality of life."

The third is healing. Healing means eliminating disease, and healing means becoming more complete. For chronic pain, healing involves learning to endure some degree of pain that can be controlled. Mindfulness meditation focuses attention on one's own breath, becomes aware of the sensations of the body, and allows all sensations to occur. In the exercises, the perception and experience of pain is changed, so that the pain is relieved and the mind and body are healed.

The practice of mindfulness will cultivate compassion and gentle strength in our hearts, and may we all have: kindness from the bottom of our hearts, and strength from the bones, blooming like flowers!
