Wang Rong (234 – July 11, 305), courtesy name Maochong, was a native of Linyi (present-day Zhuge Village, Baishabu Town, Linyi, Shandong), a prominent scholar and official of the Three Kingdoms to the Western Jin Dynasty, one of the "Seven Sages of the Bamboo Forest", a metaphysician of the Wei and Jin dynasties, and the only Shandong native among the Seven Sages of the Bamboo Forest. The allusion "Qingqing me and I" comes from him.
He was good at Qing Tan, known for his incisive character evaluation and insight, participated in the Battle of Jin and Wu, successively held the posts of Shangshu of the Bureaucracy, Prince Taifu, zhongshu ling, etc., and later ignored the affairs of the world, took pleasure in playing in the landscape, sat on the crime and exonerated the official, and gradually moved Shang Shuling and Situ Gong, and died on July 11, 305, with the nickname "Yuan".
Allusion to "Qingqing Me And I"
Wang Rong's wife often referred to Wang Rong as "Qing" (according to etiquette, a woman should call her husband "Jun", and "Qing" is the husband's title for his wife). Wang Rong said, "The woman's concubine, Yu Li is disrespectful, and she should not be reinstated." His wife said: "Dear Qingqing, it is Qingqing." If I don't do qingqing, who will be qingqing? Wang Rong was helpless. The idiom "Qingqing me and I" is derived from this code.
