A performing artist for the Los Angeles Community Theatre, Kristen Van Nuys has won the 15 Minutes Award for Best Actress, the Los Angeles Best Comedy Actress Award, and the Golden Betty Award. She also writes for Los Angeles Time Magazine. She is a member of the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
On the tv screen, Vangsness will double-cast, starring in both Criminal Minds and Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior. Her film credits include the independent film A-List and the comedy horror film In My Sleep.
In addition to her performance work, Vangsness has written various performing arts books that have been distributed in Orange County and Los Angeles. She is also passionate about tailoring and remodeling costumes for herself, and has volunteered in elementary schools continuously, reading literature to students and teaching after-school improvisation and acting classes.
