Taking the 2019 data as the base period of 100 points, the score of the Zhangjiang Biomedical Innovation Index in 2020 was 110.3 points, an increase of 10.3% year-on-year. The opening ceremony coincided with the release of the Zhangjiang Cell and Gene Industrial Park. At present, Zhangjiang's cell industry is leading in an all-round way, and gene therapy is gathering. Of the nationally approved clinical trials of cell drugs, 16 are from Zhangjiang, accounting for 2/3 of Shanghai and nearly 1/3 of the country. In the field of gene therapy, there are more than 30 gene therapy companies of various types and more than 80 research pipelines, with strong development momentum. The Zhangjiang Cell and Gene Industrial Park released this time, with shanghai international medical park as the main body, focuses on cell and gene therapy, gene sequencing and molecular diagnosis, cell and gene therapy CRO/CDMO, etc. as an expansion, accelerates the gathering of a number of cells, gene field head enterprises, high-quality innovation projects, accelerates the construction of a number of professional facilities such as cells, gene incubation centers, public technical service platforms, biological laboratories, animal experiment centers, etc., and accelerates the release of a number of iconic spaces represented by "Zhangjiang Gene Island". In addition, Zhangjiang released the AI Smart Drug Ecology Plan and unveiled the AI New Drug Research and Development Alliance. More than 20 AI emerging talents gathered, 100 pharmaceutical backbones embraced AI, and Zhangjiang AI wisdom drug ecology came into being. With the alliance as the carrier, Chen Kaixian, Jiang Hualiang, Rao Zi and three academicians proposed that nearly 20 enterprises and institutions jointly established, aiming to take key projects as the traction, jointly carry out collaborative research, take the local ecology as the foundation, and jointly enhance the local ecological density. Relying on the base, Zhangjiang Yaogu and Zhangjiang Online have both wings to jointly create a "1+3" industrial map of AI smart drugs, and strive to gather 300 active institutions, 30 innovative consortiums and 30 empowerment platforms in the ecosystem by 2025, and AI will help add 30 new first-class drug pipelines every year.

The opening ceremony also carried out a total investment of 31.2 billion yuan, the signing of 24 major industrial (platform) projects, and the cooperation of 14 ecological partners.
