My East Asian complex
Hua Zuming
I have intersected with Yadong twice. Yadong, a land of bullets embedded between Bhutan, India, is a strategic location, although small in size. The China-India Doklam confrontation that shocked China and foreign countries in 2019 occurred not far from here.
The first time I went to Yadong was in 1969, shortly after I entered Tibet, I went with a car company to Yadong la timber to solve the problem of army construction and daily necessities. Early that morning, a few of our cars set off, and the car slowly drove up the 5,000-meter-high Gambara Mountain next to the Qushui Bridge, and it took a long time to reach the top of the mountain because of the steep slope of the mountain. When the convoy was inspecting the vehicles before descending the mountain, I suddenly noticed that there was a building not far away, and after inquiring, I learned that this was the famous Gambara radar station. I wanted to go to visit, but I had no choice but to hurry up and the wind and cold could only give up.
It seems to be easier to go down the mountain, and before long, I will see a flood of blue water in the lower left of the front of the car, ah! The beautiful Yangzhuoyong Lake is about to unfold before your eyes. After that, I basically walked around the lake of Yangzhuoyong Lake, the lake surface was quiet, the lake was blue, and I was in a good mood, and I really wanted to stop and be intimate with it.
Due to the tight time, they hurried to Yadong. At that time, Yadong was still in a primitive and isolated state, coupled with the unstable situation between China and India, so since Gyantse could not browse the surrounding scenery, only remembered to rush to Yadong to load the wood, and set off the next day to return. Not paying more attention to the beautiful place called Xiaojiangnan in the southern foothills of the West Malayas is also the biggest regret of this trip to Yadong.
When I was refueling the car at the Gyantse Station during the return, an accident occurred, and when I was helping the car to refuel and put back the refueling gun, the driver suddenly started and hit the direction outside, causing the wood on the car to pass by the exposed section of the rear of the car, and I was sandwiched between the wood and the wall to avoid it, and as a result, the thick wood of the arm slid fiercely from my waist, if it was not too thick, or if I was wearing a thick coat, I was killed.
After experiencing this dangerous situation, I realized what is called the disaster of the unexpected, cherish life and always be vigilant. The first trip to East Asia was rewarding but more rewarding. Since then, I have had a memory of Yadong and always want to visit again.
The second time I went to Yadong was at Shigatse Station seven years later. For the sake of the troops, a logging team was specially organized, and I also went to Yadong as a doctor with the team. Unlike the recklessness of seven years ago, this trip to Yadong was prepared and paid attention to along the way. But the road across Gyantse to Pari is almost featureless, similar to most of Tibet.
One afternoon at about four o'clock in August, I got out of the car and stepped onto the endless prairie of Parry. According to legend, Parry's cordyceps are famous, but because they had to resist the urge to dig up some cordyceps in a hurry, along with the idea of finding tianma, they also disappeared. After a short pause, the car will turn forward over the West Malaya Mountains into the southern slopes, and finally get a glimpse of the mysterious face of the primeval forest in Yadong.
Cars turn and roll down the mountainside road. At some point, a small stream appeared beside the road, and the trickle followed us down until it merged into a roaring river.
According to the distribution of vegetation, more than 4,000 meters above sea level, Parry is full of meadows, and Parry is famous for its abundant cordyceps, but unfortunately we did not find it. Descend the southern slopes of the Himalayas, from meadows to shrub coniferous broad-leaved forests to lower Asia East, where the sea is more than 2,000 meters high. From the blue grassland, yellowing shrubs, all kinds of exotic flowers and grasses, you can see the colorful scenery, listening to the sound of babbling water next to your ears, like the cheerful music, it is really pleasant.
In the 1970s, the vegetation had not yet been destroyed on a large scale, and towering trees abounded in the early 1970s, and there were many precious medicinal herbs in the primeval forest, as well as rare birds and animals that had never been seen before. Once I saw a pheasant with gorgeous feathers tilting its head toward us in the tree through which our car passed, and it was enough to show that this thing had never seen such a world. In my spare time, I went with my comrades-in-arms to dig three sevens. The three sevens of the same family as ginseng bloom with a large red bulb when they bloom in the summer, which is also convenient for us to find. This trip to Yadong, I experienced a second dangerous situation, once accidentally slipped into a ravine dedicated to wooden rows when looking for Sanqi, because the smooth ditch wall did not have any grippers, I could only resign myself to fate and slide all the way. Just when I was desperate, I suddenly stopped on a large stone slab, looked back, and took a breath of cold air, it turned out that the front was a cliff, and a little forward sliding would make it difficult to find the bones buried at the bottom of the cliff.
People say that it is only three, but I have already had two adventures in Yadong, does it imply that there is another time? I couldn't help but feel uneasy. Sure enough, a few days later, a soldier was injured in a logging process due to a fallen tree and was in urgent need of sutures, and the medical equipment I brought with me was limited, so I could only take it to the hospital in Yadong Town. As a result, on the way, because the driver was anxious, the car drove fast, and when he turned around, he threw me out of the carriage sitting in the carriage, xu was driven by instinct, and one of my hands grasped the canopy pole tightly for a moment, so as not to fall off the bottomless cliff and once again avoid death. If the great difficulty does not die, there will be a blessing, and I do not know when this blessing will come to me.
As we were about to conclude this logging mission, the bad news of Chairman Mao Zedong's death came, and we returned to the station with great sorrow. Because of this change, the joy of Yadong's trip disappeared, and the hard-dug Sanqi was also divided up by the chiefs and comrades. However, the beauty of Yadong, its unique style is that after decades, it is still firmly hidden in my heart.
Yadong, I love you forever.
