The breeds of Bosen sheep raised in the Ziyun Animal Husbandry Ecological Breeding Area are divided into sheep and goats. Goats have cashmere goats, black goats, and dairy goats; sheep have black-headed dupo, white-headed dubo, black-headed Suffolk, and lake sheep. The total stock is about 700 goats and about 1400 sheep.
The mating method adopts natural estrus and artificial breeding techniques to concentrate on breeding. The black-headed Dubo and lake sheep crossed one generation, the rams were sold, and the ewes bred offspring; the ewe and the black-headed Suffolk crossed the second generation, and the male and female were all sold. The black-headed Dubo and lake sheep crossed a generation, with a lambing rate of 180% and a survival rate of 150%; the lambing rate of lake sheep reached 220%, and the survival rate of 170%-180%.
The feed forage is a mixture of green storage corn and hay (corn straw, dry alfalfa); the feed is corn, bran, bean paste, and different varieties are different proportions. Pregnant ewes are fed separately.
Vaccinations are given in spring and autumn, and insect repellent is regularly given four times a year.
