Recently, the Gaopi Water Conservancy Hub Project in Meizhou, Guangdong Province, carried out the first fish breeding and stocking activities, releasing about 300,000 fry of 6 species of fish, including barbed catfish, blue carp and grass carp, into the Hanjiang River. This is the first time that the Gaopi Water Conservancy Hub has carried out compensatory release of fish losses on the Han River after the lower gate was stored at the beginning of this year.
It is reported that while building the main project of the Gaopi Water Conservancy Hub, a new fish breeding and stocking station has been built, with a scale of 600,000 fish per year, and a shrew habitat and artificial fish nests have been set up in the reservoir area to restore the habitat of the Han River. According to the annual plan, the Gaopi Water Conservancy Hub will continue to release five species of fish in the long run, namely white-edged crucifer, mackerel, largefin carp, spotted carp and heel, so as to increase aquatic biodiversity and continuously improve the water ecological environment of the Hanjiang River Basin.
