Will insects that parasitize fish be transmitted to humans?

Parasites are very common, and there may be parasites in the human body and the body of animals.

Will insects that parasitize fish be transmitted to humans?

For our common fish, fish parasitic diseases will not only affect the growth of fish, but also cause fish to appear emaciated, decreased immunity and other symptoms, affecting the quality of fish. Therefore, fish parasites in fish ponds should be prevented and treated early.

Common fish parasites include wheelworms, ringworms, clawworms, myxosporidium, Chinese loach and fish bream, which parasitize in different positions of the fish body and cause different degrees of damage to the fish. For example, wheelworms will invade fish bodies and gills, absorbing tissue cells for nutrition, causing serious damage to the skin and gill tissue of juvenile fish. Sick fish are weak and emaciated, swim alone, reduce food, move slowly, and in severe cases, can lead to fish death.

Will insects that parasitize fish be transmitted to humans?

So will the aforementioned fish parasites invade humans? The answer is no. However, not all parasites do not invade humans, such as Chinese mycarditrioma is a typical compound trematodes, and its first intermediate host is freshwater snails, such as bean snails, swamp snails, culvert snails, etc.; the second intermediate host is freshwater fish, shrimp; the final host is human and carnivorous mammals (dogs, cats, etc.). Adults parasitize in the hepatobiliary ducts of humans and carnivorous mammals, and may often migrate to large bile ducts, common bile ducts, or gallbladder, and occasionally in the pancreatic ducts. People who have a habit of eating sashimi have a high chance of contracting this parasite. In addition, parasites such as spinosarcum nematodes and spinosacillus nematodes can also invade humans.

Humans are infested by fish parasites because they eat aquatic products with these parasites raw. Therefore, when we select aquatic products, we must first strictly quarantine and confirm that there are no parasites that can infect the human body. Secondly, aquatic products should be heated to make mature food dishes before eating, because the parasites present in aquatic products will lose the ability to infect the consumer's body after sufficient heating.
