Behind this understanding, it means hard work. Ding Liuyuan commented that his "talent is not high", so he often has to use stupid methods, collecting books and historical materials in the library before shooting, and studying the roles, which is only a necessary homework for actors.
In the movie "My Father Jiao Yulu", released in July, Ding Liuyuan starred as Jiao Yulu's wife Xu Junya. During the filming of the film, Jiao Shouyun, the daughter of Secretary Jiao, has been with the group, and Ding Liuyuan asked her about Xu Junya's story as soon as he had the opportunity. "She once told me a detail, 'My mother doesn't let others wrap dumplings every Spring Festival, and after she wraps them, she sleeps with her head covered, and she doesn't eat dumplings together. When filming the scene when Jiao Yulu was dying, Ding Liuyuan really felt Xu Junya's grief, and his heart was so heavy that he had insomnia for many days and his weight dropped rapidly, "Finally, he took sleeping pills, from half a tablet to three tablets, or couldn't sleep." "Liu Yuan, she is Sister Jiang"
In order to create the image of "Sister Jiang", Ding Liuyuan turned off her mobile phone and concentrated on reading scripts, historical materials and literary works for more than 40 consecutive days, and she drew a "Sister Jiang" chronology for herself, which could be cherished by all the historical figures and events at that time. She went to the Hongyan Memorial Hall and the sacrifice site of "Sister Jiang" several times to look for the shadow of "Sister Jiang", and she would even experience the feeling of "Sister Jiang" being tortured...
Even so, there are times when you need an epiphany at a specific time. There is a plot in "Sister Jiang", "Sister Jiang" sees her twenty-something inmates returning from torture, people are already dying, and people around her are gathered around her, silently crying. At that time, Ding Liuyuan's treatment was to hold the hands of his fellow inmates tightly and cry silently. Everyone thought that this kind of interpretation was no problem, but a director found her privately and only said one sentence: "Liu Yuan, she is 'Sister Jiang'." ”
"When he said that, I burst into tears and I said I knew." That day, Ding Liuyuan cried bitterly in the bathroom for a long time. "What I cried out was the fragility that belonged to Ding Liuyuan, which contained sympathy for the inmates, sympathy and anger for the suffering of 'Sister Jiang's generation, but this emotion should not belong to 'Sister Jiang'."
A sentence from the director made her understand the reason why "Sister Jiang" is "Sister Jiang". "Jiang Zhujun's position in the party is not high, his seniority is not deep, he was just 29 years old when he was killed, why is such a young man called a sister by men and women up and down in prison? That must be because her performance in prison has brought strength and warmth to her comrades, and she should not have Ding Liuyuan's vulnerability in her, or she has hidden the vulnerability deeply, which will not be felt. ”

Q: What have you been busy with lately in celebrating the centenary of the founding of the Cpc?
A: I feel particularly honored that as an artist, several of the works I have participated in this year will be launched to celebrate this great moment. For example, the TV series "Hit the Water in the Middle Stream" and "Hundred Refining into Steel" that have just been broadcast, and the movie "My Father Jiao Yulu" released in July. During this period, I also participated in the recording of many party history study classes and cultural programs. I will participate in these activities whenever I have time, and I feel that it is my obligation.
Q: How has joining the party affected your artistic creation and artistic career?
A: As far as you are an actor, whether you join the party or not, your requirements for yourself are different. For example, in a crew, if you are just an actor, when you are extremely tired and physically weak, you may have inertia. But if you are a party member, which is not allowed, you will ask yourself not to be late and leave early, to be more prepared, and you will ask yourself to be more dedicated. These demands are neither slogans nor concepts, they are deeply rooted in the blood.
You ask me why I played "Sister Jiang", why do we have to remake the red classic today, is it because the works we shot before are not good enough? No. Rather, it is because the times require us to constantly re-read and understand the communists' views on life and death and values — many times you can survive peacefully, but these communists would rather abandon their happiness and life. Now is the era of peace, everyone will not experience the test of life and death, but still have to continue to make life choices, how do you choose to trade, who do you choose to associate with, what kind of person do you want to become? At the crossroads of life, you need the right concept to guide yourself, which is the meaning of remaking the red classic.
Returning to the actor industry, when choosing a role, do you consider more about the salary or the needs of the heart? Some people say that Liu Yuan has been insisting on playing a red character for so many years. I would like to say that I didn't grit my teeth and insist, I just chose a role that was more compatible with my heart. Playing these roles makes me feel happy, because a certain point of these roles can activate some of my inner qualities at a certain moment, and I have touched these excellent souls because of this, which is what I cherish the most.
Question: Are there any Communist Party members in the field of literature and art that you admire?
A: For example, Teacher Yu Lan. Teacher Yu Lan played "Sister Jiang" in "Eternal Life in the Fire". Before playing Sister Jiang, I asked her for advice, "'Elder Yu Lan, I want to play 'Sister Jiang', the crew let me watch 'Eternal Life in the Fire' to learn, but I didn't learn, you won't blame me.". The old man said in a particularly light voice, 'Liu Yuan, you don't have to look, you don't have to learn from me.' As long as you work hard, you will definitely create your own audience-approved characters. ”
This simple two sentences actually put forward the requirements for the creation of performing arts: one is to go deep into life and get close to the characters, and the other is the unique expression of personalization. These two requirements became the norm for my performance. I'm not actually very prolific, but I make 200% efforts to express my understanding of each character. ”
Another example is Teacher Tian Hua. In an all-army speech contest, the theme of my speech was "My mother is the daughter of the party." Why should I write about Teacher Tian Hua, because she is the old leader of our Bayi Actors Troupe, and later I was fortunate to become the leader of the troupe. It's also because we used to partner mother and daughter in the play. She told me a lot about her childhood. She said that when she heard that a unit from the village was particularly good for the people, she followed. But she was only eight or nine years old, the army thought she was too young, sent someone to send her back to the village, and when she arrived at the mouth of the village, she found that the whole village had been burned, and Teacher Tian Hua said to me, "If I don't go with the troops, then I will also die." "Without the Communist Party, there would be no Tian Hua," you can imagine how deep and sincere their generation's feelings for the party are.
This affection for the party has been internalized into what they demand of themselves. Teacher Tian Hua is 93 years old this year, and she has refused to shoot advertisements all her life, which is her code of conduct. Her lover was sick and hospitalized, and at the gate of the 301 Hospital, many people saw that she would sometimes wait in front of a fruit stall - 35 yuan a box of strawberries, she was reluctant to buy, she was too expensive. I really feel like I'm particularly lucky to have grown up among them.
Q: As a party member, what suggestions do you have for the healthy development of the industry?
A: I am now the Deputy Secretary-General of the Committee for the Construction of Professional Ethics in the Television Industry. From the association's point of view, I think we should improve our industry norms, and more importantly, we should lead by example. So many excellent artists have played an exemplary role for us, and we should pass this on.
For me personally, I feel that I should do my own thing, and then infect the people around me, and contribute a little warmth to this society as much as I can.
