The membrane material industry has always been Suqian's advantageous characteristic industry, mainly based on polyester functional film, polypropylene film, etc., and in the past few years, a relatively complete industrial chain covering from masterbatch processing, substrate production to functional film research and development, high-tech product applications and so on has been formed. In 2013, it was identified by the Ministry of Science and Technology as the national torch plan Suqian film material characteristic industrial base, and in 2019, the city's membrane material industry achieved an output value of 11.2 billion yuan and a main business income of 11 billion yuan.
In order to promote the innovative development of the membrane material industry in Suqian City, Suqian Science and Technology Bureau made full use of the advantages of science and technology resources of Jiangsu Industrial Technology Research Institute, actively negotiated with the State Key Laboratory of Polymer Materials Engineering of Sichuan University and the Advanced Polymer Materials Technology Research Institute of Jiangsu Industrial Technology Research Institute, and reached the intention of jointly building Suqian Functional Composite Materials Industrial Technology Research Institute and Jiangsu Industrial Technology Research Institute Advanced Polymer Materials Technology Research Institute Functional Composite Materials Industrialization Base.
On the afternoon of September 27, at the 2021 China Suqian Talent Science and Technology Cooperation and Exchange Conference and the Industrial Chain Science and Technology Project Attraction Promotion Conference, suqian functional composite materials industry technology research institute and Jiangsu Industrial Technology Research Institute advanced polymer material technology research institute functional composite materials industrialization base officially signed a contract.
