Brain Innovation Center will become a "booster" for industrial development
It is understood that as early as 2019, the brain science team of the Shenzhen Advanced Institute took the lead in launching the "Brain Cognitive Brain Disease Academic and Industrial Alliance" nationwide. With the aim of "demand traction, pain point thinking, and serving people's livelihood", the alliance put forward an innovative model of "the demand side is out of the question, and the science and technology community is answering the question".
The inaugurated Brain Innovation Center was jointly built by the Guangming District Government and the Shenzhen Advanced Institute, with a total investment of more than 100 million yuan and an incubation space of more than 10,000 square meters. With the starting point of "the demand side is out of the question, the science and technology community answers the question", the Brain Innovation Center builds the country's first common technical service platform for the brain science industry around the key pain points of the industrial transformation in the field of brain science and brain-like intelligence, bases itself on the Greater Bay Area and radiates the whole country, and creates an industrial development ecology of "laying eggs + aggregation effect along the way".
Wang Liping, director of the Institute of Brain Cognition and Brain Diseases of Shenzhen Advanced Institute, introduced that the goal of the Brain Innovation Center is to create an industrial development model of "innovation, entrepreneurship and venture capital" and integrated development, "hoping to accelerate the transfer and transformation of research results based on the field of brain science, so that more innovative projects can better land in Shenzhen Guangming." ”
To this end, the Brain Innovation Center has a forward-looking layout to build a bright science city brain and brain-like intelligent industrial park. According to the work deployment, the Brain Innovation Center will cooperate with China Merchants to build the Bright Brain and Brain-like Intelligent Industrial Park (China Merchants Base) in Guangming to support the development of the start-up technical team in the Brain Innovation Center in the middle and late stages.
In order to introduce the first-class technical teams in the field of mental health at home and abroad into the light, the "Yitou Mental Health Technology Laboratory" cooperated by the Shenzhen Advanced Institute of Brain Research and Yitou Plan was also unveiled at the conference. The laboratory aims to jointly promote the construction of the brain health industry ecosystem through the incubation of new technologies for early diagnosis and preferential treatment in the field of mental health at home and abroad, as well as in-depth cooperation with capital, and to cultivate a number of unicorn enterprises for the mental health industry.
It is reported that relying on the major scientific and technological infrastructure of brain analysis and brain simulation built by Shenzhen Advanced Institute in Guangming Science City, it will focus on the three modules of brain analysis, brain editing and brain simulation, and become an important scientific and technological force for the development of brain science in Guangming Science City. The main building of the brain facility was capped in early 2021 and is expected to be gradually put into use from 2023 onwards.

The conference attracted more than 30 capital enterprises and 30 cutting-edge technology teams to jointly discuss the common problems in the field of brain science and technology and the construction of the industrial chain of "source innovation, technology research and development, talent training, industrial layout, and capital support".
