On the thirteenth day, Gao Wei granted amnesty to the world and changed the seventh year of Wuping to the first year of Longhua.
At the beginning of the first month of 577 AD, Gao Wei passed the throne to Gao Heng. Gao Heng changed yuan chengguang to the title of empress dowager, Gao Wei as emperor and empress dowager, and empress dowager as empress dowager. 7-year-old Gao Heng, full of childishness and confusion, put on the imperial robe.
The Northern Zhou army gradually approached. More than twenty days later, Gao Heng saw that the Northern Zhou army was in hot pursuit, and he did not dare to wear this yellow robe. Yuwen Yong sent Lieutenant Chi Qin to pursue Gao Wei and Gao Heng to Qingzhou. Seeing that the Northern Zhou army suddenly arrived in Qingzhou, Gao Wei, Changluan, Feng Shufei and a dozen other riders and horses fled into the wilderness, and when they reached the village of Deng south of Qingzhou, they were captured by the Northern Zhou Dynasty general Chi Gang and sent to Yecheng. At this point, Northern Qi perished, and the 6 emperors were passed on, for 28 years.
Emperor Yuwen Yong of the Northern Zhou Dynasty sent Gao Wei and the empress dowager, Gao Heng, and the princes to Chang'an. He also made Gao Wei the Duke of Wen.
In the sixth year of The Northern Zhou Dynasty (577), Gao Wei was falsely accused of conspiring against Shi Mutiba of Yizhou, and Gao Wei, Gao Heng, and Gao Yanzong were stabbed to death by dozens of people, young and old.
Gao Heng reigned for nearly a month, and due to the chaos of the world, he was also the king of the subjugated country, and he did not even have a tomb after his death.
Gao Heng was emperor after only one month of destruction, he himself was still a child, of course, there was no political achievement to speak of. Even so, the history books also recorded one of his preferences: a penchant for cockfighting and lackeys. The Book of Northern Qi says that he was "a dog on a horse to set up a mattress to hold, a cockfighter also opened a house, and a dog, horse, chicken, eagle, and more food county cadre." ”
