Norihide Abe (May 1886 – November 7, 1939) graduated from the Japanese Army Non-Commissioned Officer School in 1907, joined the Japanese Army after graduation, and was promoted to major general in August 1937. In 1939, he was appointed brigade commander of the Second Independent Mixed Brigade of the Japanese Army and promoted to lieutenant general.

After the death of Norihide Abe, he was awarded the Grand Order of the Rising Sun, First Class. Norihide Abe is known as a "handsome" and "mountain warfare" expert who is good at using "new tactics", and has the title of "Flower of Famous Generals".
