On the way back to Chang'an on a donkey, Jia Dao repeatedly recited his poems, and the more he thought about it, the more he felt that the word "push" in "Birds stay in the tree by the pond, monks push the moon under the door" is not used very appropriately.
He wondered, is it better to "the monk pushes the door under the moon" or "the monk knocks on the door under the moon"? And he made "pushing the door" and "knocking on the door" as he walked, which caused the road to look at him sideways. Due to excessive concentration, he didn't even see Han Yu's honor guard and suddenly broke in. Han Yu ordered the people to call Jia Dao over and ask him why he had sneaked into the honor guard. Jia Dao read his poem again and asked Han Yu to give him an idea.
After deliberating for a while, Han Yu suggested, "It is more appropriate to type." You visit a friend, and even if there is no door bolt in his house, you can't push the door recklessly. Use typing to appear polite. And in the dead of night, with typing, there is a little more sound. Isn't it wonderful to be still and moving?"
Jia Dao was overjoyed, took Han Yu's advice, and thus made friends with Han Yu. And the word "scrutiny" is not the most persistent thing for Jia Dao. He once noted in the poem "Sending the Invincible" (Sending the Invincible One): "Alone at the bottom of the pond, counting the edges of the tree", "Two sentences and three years, a groan and a double tear." If Zhiyin is not rewarded, he will return to his hometown in autumn. For these two poems, he held back for three years. His concentration on poetry really beats most poets.
