Forty years ago, Xu Chi's reportage "Goldbach Conjecture" sensationalized the whole country! Chen Jingrun, a middle-aged mathematician who indulged in mathematical research in a six-square-meter dimly lit hut with newspapers pasted windows, was drunk and foolish in the eyes of outsiders, opened by an old poet who was curious about the natural sciences and burned with passion, and pushed him to the foreground and placed him in the aperture of the spotlight.
The Goldbach Conjecture, published in magazines, reprinted in newspapers, broadcast on radio, and chen Jingrun was discussed wherever there were people. China Youth Daily set the topic for this purpose, allowing readers to participate in the discussion of Chen Jingrun-style scientists. What an era that was! ——Just resumed the college entrance examination, the National Science Conference was held, the search for lost time, the emancipation of the mind, the discussion of the standard of truth, the spring of science has come!
Xu Chi is a famous poet. In the 1940s, he wrote poems with one hand and translated them with the other, and Thoreau's Walden, which is still in the bookstore today, is his early translation. When Chairman Mao went to Chongqing for negotiations, the enthusiastic poet asked the chairman to write an inscription in his notebook, and Chairman Mao wrote him the three words "Poetry and Speech". After the founding of New China, he came to Beijing, first working in the foreign propaganda department, and then transferred to the Writers Association, serving as the deputy editor of the Poetry Journal. In the fiery years, the rapid development of society and the construction of large factories and mines in the country, the poet's heart was always in a state of excitement. After the Three Gorges Dam Project was launched, he longed for the human miracle of "high gorge out of Ping Lake", and actually left Beijing and moved his family to Hubei to witness the miracle with the pen in his hand. The unit he wants to settle down in is the Yangtze River Water Conservancy Planning Commission, and he wants to settle down in Yichang, get close to the laborers, and see the completion of the dam with his own eyes. After the project was dismounted, he transferred to the Hubei Writers Association and retired to the Yangtze River as a bard. He once said that he had carefully read "Dream of the Red Chamber" and "Notes on the Collection of Chu Ci", and also published "The Art of the Dream of the Red Chamber", which began with the silkworm reeling industry in Jiangnan and entered the Jiangning manufacturing of Cao's from social history, which can be called a red school. So, did he ever associate his fate with Qu Yuan? I don't think so. The sun always shone in his heart, and even on days when the clouds covered the sky, he could see the light revealed in the gaps in the clouds. "Unforgettable Xu Chi" published by Shanghai Bookstore Publishing House is a commemorative collection after his unfortunate death, and many of his friends and colleagues recall his enthusiastic and optimistic personality, and cannot see a single sad word with Xu Chi. Even when the Cultural Revolution was criticized, he said: "I saw in a book written by foreigners that at this time, even Jesus was suffering—where do we dare to compare with him?" Some people frowned bitterly, but Xu Chi bought a flute and asked a middle school student to teach him, he was ready to go to the countryside to herd cattle, and when he was released, he also wanted to sit poetically on the back of the old cow that had returned to the twilight and play the flute.
Xu Chi wrote about Chen Jingrun because he saw the beauty of pure mathematics, and from Chen Jingrun's spirit of selfless study, he saw the personality beauty of scientists. The core idea of the Goldbach Conjecture is that in Zhongguancun, there are Chen Jingrun-like fools in China, and China's scientific research is promising. If China can have a large number of Chen Jingrun-style fools, There will be hope for China's future. Involved in the scientific community, Xu Chi, with his clever mind, suddenly fell in love with the truth, goodness and beauty in the natural sciences, and he drilled into advanced mathematics and physics. His "Talking about Quarks" is a poet's exploration of the physical world. For Chen Jingrun's psychology and personality, he captured Chen Jingrun's lovely moments with the sensitivity and superb brushstrokes of a poet. When Secretary Li, who wrote about the office, found that Chen Jingrun's hut did not have electric lights, Chen Jingrun replied: "No lamps, bad lights, troublesome lamps." In this building, there are many people with electric stoves. The load of the wire is too heavy, and it is often necessary to check the line, and every family has to check it. But they never looked me up. I don't have lights and I don't have wires. If the lamp is not good, it will add trouble to the lamp. Writing what Chen Jingrun said, Xu Chi immediately followed: "After saying that, he smiled miserably." Originally, in order to completely exempt the electrician from frequent inspection, Chen Jingrun chose a kerosene lamp and resolutely physically isolated from the powerful electrician. Xu Chi is a master, highlighting the character through the words of the characters. This is also the artistic charm of "Dream of the Red Chamber".
Traditional poets are always inseparable from personal sorrows, joys and losses; modern poets, who also love to carve insects and small skills, frown and scratch their heads on poetry and rhyme feet, "one sentence for three years", "words are not surprising and endless". The poet Xu Chi, however, stepped into the vast field of natural science, went out and smiled at the river, and used the rafters' pen to capitalize the ode of the era! In the early "Under the Qilian Mountains", he wrote Chang Shuhong and Dunhuang, trying new genres of news and literature hybridization, such as picturesque. The "Oil Head" that readers are familiar with, writing about the workers in the Yumen Oilfield, is a picture of the era of freehand and workmanship. When I saw in the video that today's Yumen has become an empty city, I remembered the past and present of this place that Xu Chi once sang about: If Xu Chi was still alive, what would he write about today's Yumen? When writing "Geological Light", Xu Chi observed that there were thoughts in Li Siguang's articles. In his reportage, he links Li Siguang's personal fate with the road to prosperity and strength of the motherland, not simply writing about the contribution of a scientist in technology. For the plant kingdom, for the green world, Xu Chi Shixing Dafa, "The Evergreen Tree of Life", is a biography of Cai XiTao. A writer is often agitated by the mysteries of the universe; at the same time, he himself becomes a person with capital letters. In 1994, in order to observe the magnificent celestial phenomenon of the collision of Huimu, he flew to Yunnan and ran to the observatory to wait for the rare scene of the collision of stars. Unfortunately, due to the weather, he did not see it. He had thought that he had come and written about the plant kingdom in the mountains of Yunnan; he also wanted to stand on the high mountains of Yunnan and look up at the stars. In his wise mind, he constantly accepts the information of the universe and processes the information with his brain, trying to understand the unknown world that is difficult for ordinary people to understand, and writes in the language of poetry and prose. Colleagues recalled that he used computers very early and applied to the telecommunications department for network access very early. When our country had not yet entered the information highway, he wrote to a friend that he was reading Bill Gates's book, dreaming of having the Internet sooner rather than later, and he could have his own e-mail.
Xu Chi likes classical music and especially admires Bach, saying that Bach is noble. He, a poet and writer who went from a small town in Jiangnan to the world, is an otherworldly, noble and elegant person.
