Born on October 29, 1971 in Basuogang, Dongfang County, Guangdong Province (now part of Dongfang City, Hainan Province)

After graduating in 1993, Ma Huateng entered Shenzhen Runxun Communication Development Co., Ltd. and began to work as a programming engineer, focusing on the development of pager software until he was promoted to the head of the development department.

In 1998, the practical software concept not only cultivated Ma Huateng's keen sense of the software market, but also made him profitable. Ma Huateng is one of the authors of the popular stock card. This makes it not only famous in the circle, but also has a considerable primitive accumulation.

In 1998, Ma Huateng and his classmate Zhang Zhidong registered a "joint venture" with Shenzhen Tencent Computer System Co., Ltd. On August 7, 2017, Tencent's share price hit a record high of HK$320.6 in the intraday, and Ma Huateng became The richest man in China with a net worth of US$36.1 billion.
