Looters who disappeared from the streets of Venezuela for a while are "resurrected" again

In Venezuela, street robberies of dollars have become commonplace, with different citizens reporting how they were deprived of their money in different places and emphasizing that criminals only take away bills and not other items.

David Perez said: "When I was shopping, they were looking at me. He said a man kept watching him while he was in a butcher shop near his residence.

"After I took out a $50 bill for payment, they retrieved 4 $10 bills, and I reckoned the stranger saw it, so when I left the store and was in a remote place, he approached me and ordered me to take out the money I had just gotten," he said.

It's not the only way they grab the money, Katherine Rubio, 23, recounts how she was robbed a week ago at El Silencio station in caracas metro stations.

"A guy who made a mask with a scarf approached me and told me he saw how I put $20 in my bag and I should give it to him or something bad could happen."

He commented: "He took the banknote. The others didn't take it."

The case of Sebastian Cabrera, 25, is similar, telling how he was robbed at a traffic light.

"The traffic lights were red at the time and a motorcycle was next to me. He kept looking at the car, and it turned out he saw a $50 bill in the glove compartment."

Cabrera recalled: "He threatened him that it was tolls and that there would be no good fruit to eat if he didn't give it. I gave it to him. ”
