They are artists, critics, editors-in-chief of photography magazines, directors and curators of international photography festivals from all over the world. On November 17th, with rich experience in artistic creation and project operation, they will provide local artists and photographers with face-to-face opportunities to "point out the mysteries" in Xiamen.
The "Expert Meet and Greet" is one of the core projects of the International Photography Festival in Arles, France, and this time it has also been reserved for the 2015 Mei-Arles International Photography Season.
What is very different from the general experts, artist interaction and public lectures is that this "expert meeting" is aimed at professional artists, photographers or people who intend to seriously engage in the creation of photography art, experts will provide "one-on-one" work reviews, as well as curation, commentary, publishing, sales and other aspects of advice or resources, and even directly help contact various exhibitions and gallery agents at home and abroad, which will be a very valuable and rare opportunity for young artists who are still in their formative years.
In foreign countries, the applicants for the "Expert Meeting" of the photography festival include many active photography creators in the frontline. This time, the 2015 Jimei Arles International Photography Season invited more than a dozen experts from all over the world, including Sam, president of the Arles International Photography Festival in France, Mr. Ruan Yizhong, a Taiwanese photography master known as "China Bresson", Huang Rui, the initiator of the 798 Art District and a contemporary artist, Rong Rong, Yingli and his wife, artists and founders of Three Shadows, as well as art and media experts from the Netherlands, Switzerland and Germany. It can be said that the expert meeting will be an important "springboard" in your photography career.
There will be volunteer interpreters at the meet-and-greet until the meet-and-greet is held.

This Jimei Arles International Photography Season has three major exhibition venues - Garden Expo Garden, Jiageng Art Center, and Three Shadows Xiamen Photography Art Center. Two days ago, we introduced the main exhibition items of the Three Shadows Hall and the Garden Expo Garden Exhibition Hall respectively, and today we will guide you to the highlights of the exhibition at the Jiageng Art Center, which is mainly distributed on the first and fourth floors of the center.
【1st Floor】
"Two Kinds of Nostalgia"
Four of Nguyen's most famous series are selected: Man and Land, Taipei Rumors, Lost Grace and Square Nostalgia. These works are gentle records of the real Taiwan of the 1970s and 1990s, and many of them have been exhibited and collected by many art museums at home and abroad.
"Distant Shadow"
Curator Sora named the project "Distant Shadow" in Li Bai's poem "Lonely Sail Distant Shadow in the Blue Sky" to express the long-distance mood of gradually drifting away and the hope for a new journey.
Kassel: Memory and Reconstruction
Since the 1980s, many Chinese artists have studied at the Kassel Art Academy, and the city's artistic atmosphere has influenced artists and influenced future Chinese contemporary art. Curator Tang Jing invited artists who had intersected with Kassel to re-present and interpret the city in a cinematic way and from the most personal point of view.
White Night Photo Studio
White Night Photo Gallery is an art group founded in 2013 with members Yang Wei and Wang Xu. By restoring the set props and shooting methods in the photo studios of the past, the group takes old photo-style photos for people today, hoping to remember those old-fashioned photo studios that have passed away with warmth.
Possessed and Forgotten Times
Six artists, including Shao Yi, Feng Li, Du Wenting, Shi Zheng, Guan Huaibin and Tang Nannan, who participated in this group of works, shared the virtual and real images they captured and created through different media such as mobile apps, audio-visuals and photos, and reproduced the details that once appeared around us but were ignored.

"Undecided Relationship"
Focusing on the 15 large-format photographic works of artist Liu Jie, in addition to the ingenuity of the works, the exhibition layout is also quite painstaking. In the vast space, the flat photographic works benefit from the deviation of the placement angle, showing a staggered beauty.
At the suggestion of curator Li Zhenhua, Liu Jie placed the pictures of the building on the wall for the audience to see from a distance, while the pictures of the flower house plants and ballet dancers were placed obliquely in the middle, allowing the audience to shuttle through it, and this well-designed sense of distance added vitality and fun to the exhibition.
【Interview】
Looking forward to the "debut" of the work in Xiamen
——Interview with Liu Jie, an artist in Germany
Liu Jie was born in Xi'an in 1977. After graduating from the Sculpture Department of Xi'an Academy of Fine Arts, he entered the Plastic Arts Department of the Kassel Art Institute in Germany. He studied contemporary art photography at the master's level and received the title of Master of Free Art after graduation. He currently lives and works as a professional artist in Munich and Beijing.
In dozens of exhibition projects of the 2015 Jimei Arles International Photography Season, Liu Jie's work "Undecided Relationship" "exclusively" occupies the four floors of the entire Jiageng Art Center, focusing on 15 large-format photographic works. This is the domestic "debut" of Liu Jie's artistic exploration for many years, although the works have been exhibited abroad, but such a comprehensive and large-scale display is also the first time, and he is very much looking forward to the response of domestic audiences.
Liu Jie works
In front of him, Liu Jie had a flat head, wore a dark green shirt, and carried a cross-body bag, like a college student. In fact, at the age of 38, he has been immersed in the European art world for 12 years, and the works in this exhibition represent the result of his study and life in Germany. From the beginning of preparation in 2006 to the completion of 2012, Liu Jie collected materials everywhere in the past 6 years, filmed and filmed, and traveled all over Europe. For this exhibition, 10 of the 15 works traveled from Germany to China, a trip that took three months.
In the works, the viewer will see buildings, floral plants, and ballet dancers, as if the works come from different artists, and will also wonder about the connection between the three. Liu Jie explained that in terms of content, buildings represent human products. The flower house plant embodies nature, a nature that is installed in the building, showing that human society is constantly expanding, and nature can only continue to fade. The ballet dancers represent the human beings themselves, who have undergone a long period of physical training and reshaped the body, metaphorically referring to the fact that when human beings create products, influence nature, and reconstruct external space, they are also subtly changing. From the picture point of view, buildings, flower house plants and ballet dancers all have a sense of structure and shaping.
"The relationship between these three is very delicate." Liu Jie said that the reason why the work is called "undecided relationship" is because he does not make a non-conclusive conclusion about this relationship, and human civilization brings the unknown, if the audience can think about it, the purpose of the work will be achieved.
Liu Jie has participated in many exhibitions abroad, but this is his first time to participate in the Arles International Photography Exhibition, and it is also the first time he has returned to China to participate in the exhibition after going to Germany for further study. Liu Jie believes that the film festival has built a good platform to promote the exchange and interaction of artists, and also provide an opportunity for the public to contact art. "It is normal for the public to be unable to understand some photographic works, and sometimes it is difficult for insiders to understand the connotation of the works." Liu Jie said, "But if the citizens want to come and feel this artistic atmosphere, it is best to bring their children together and slowly experience the feelings." "A graduate of the Kassel Academy of Arts, he is very interested in another project of the photography season, Kassel: Memory and Reconstruction." I will meet my old classmates in Xiamen, and I am very happy. Liu Jie said that the artists involved in the project are alumni of the Kassel Art Institute, and several of them are his old classmates and friends. Although the scale of the exhibition is small, the work will present a glimpse into the past of Kassel's life.
As a freelance artist, Liu Jie maintains a constant creative state. He revealed that the works he was creating were about the current situation of consumption in China, and the idea of creating new works stemmed from the experience of returning to China several times, Liu Jie said that he had not returned to China for 7 years, and when he came back and walked out of the airport, the whole person was shocked. "The horizon was raised in an instant, and there were tall buildings everywhere, and I couldn't see my head at a glance." He wanted to incorporate this shock into his new work, and the creative approach of the work would not be limited to photography.
