On the evening of May 18, according to the Japanese media "Daily Sports Digest" (Sponichi Annex), the star of the Japanese drama "Renzaburo Furuhata" and the well-known actor Masakazu Tamura had died of heart failure at a hospital in Tokyo at 4:20 p.m. local time on April 3, at the age of 77. At about 9 p.m. on May 18, NHK News Station also announced the death of Masakazu Tamura in the form of a rapid report.

Masakazu Tamura was born in Kyoto in 1943, the third son of Japanese period drama superstar Sakato's wife Saburo. He aspired to inherit his father's mantle from an early age, debuted on the screen in high school, and in college, he did not worry about film contracts, and completed his studies while acting. However, due to his voice and more ordinary appearance, at the beginning of entering the acting world, Tamura Masakazu appeared in supporting roles. In 1969, he starred in the costume film "Sleep Crazy Shiro", and his melancholy image captured the hearts of many female audiences; in 1970, he starred in the Fuji-tai Japanese drama "Winter Journey", which also received good reviews and grew popularity.
In the 1980s, Masakazu Tamura, together with his eldest brother Takahiro Tamura and his younger brother Ryo Tamura, often starred in film and television works in the form of a combination known as the "Tamura Three Brothers", which became a topic of conversation for a while, and also received many advertisements, making him a household name in Japan.
Of course, the work that really made Masakazu Tamura famous was the Fuji TV criminal investigation unit drama "Renzaburo Furuhata", which was first broadcast in 1994. Masakazu Tamura's role as Furuhata is different from the tall, strong, righteous, or brave and warlike criminal policemen in the past, but looks inconspicuous, but with a meticulous level of reasoning and witty words and deeds, especially the interaction with his subordinate Imazumi, the audience is refreshed. The series aired for 12 years and has always maintained a high standard and high ratings.
Most Chinese film fans know Masakazu Tamura through the "Furuhata Renzaburo" series
In addition to "Renzaburo Furuhata", in Japanese dramas such as "Beauty" and "Stubborn Father", Masakazu Tamura also showed completely different acting skills. His last work was the latest edition of 2018's Sleep Madness Shiro, the second time he played the same role nearly half a century later. Ending his acting career with a role that has brought himself attention from the beginning of the film should be considered a consummation for an actor.
