The Yangtze River Diecui is one of the new ten scenic spots in Zhongshan City, referring to the Yangtze River Reservoir Tourist Area, which is nine kilometers southeast of Shiqi, the center of Zhongshan City, and is a reservoir-centered tourist area built in the north of the famous anti-Japanese guerrilla base area of Wugui Mountain. The reservoir was basically completed in 1963, it includes 6 large water holes connected to it, 7 Shanliangshanpu and a barrage dam, with a catchment area of 36 square kilometers and a storage capacity of 50 million li. The top surface of the majestic reservoir dam is more than 6 meters wide and 330 meters long.

The reservoir was basically completed in 1963, it includes 6 large water holes connected to it, 7 Shanliangshanpu and a barrage dam, with a catchment area of 36 square kilometers and a storage capacity of 50 million li. The top surface of the majestic reservoir dam is more than 6 meters wide and 330 meters long. Looking into the reservoir area, the mangy mountains, the heavy mountains, the infinite pine forest, the lush greenery, as well as the fir trees, camphor trees, neem... and many trees that cannot be named. A derivative of life, thick green as velvet, reflected in the lake, is where the beautiful scenery of "stacked green" charm is located.
Go inside, deep valley flat lake, valley inside the valley, lake in the lake. The water is more than thirty meters deep, crystal clear and can be recognized, and swimming fish can be counted. Between the slopes around the lake, there are many attractions such as Qiren Stone (Wangfu Gui), Bao Duck Pond (Bao Duck Vacant), Changlongkeng Waterfall (Flying Stream Thousand Feet), Dark Dragon Pit Stone Corridor (Deep Stream Strange Stone Exhibition) and so on.
History
Most of the Zhongshan Shiqi people, who are more than half a hundred years old, are very familiar with the Yangtze River Reservoir, because they have been there more than once in their youth to volunteer labor, leaving a precious memory.
The Yangtze River Reservoir is not a reservoir in Zhongshan City, but it is one of the more famous ones.
A Shantang reservoir in Zhongshan is the first to promote the Jingchun Pond built by Guo Xin of Zhuxiuyuan Village in this village, which is suitable for people to travel, swim, and irrigate 100 acres of farmland. It was built in 1946. In the 1950s, when ishiki elementary and junior high school students went on outings, Takehideen was one of the often chosen spots.
After the founding of the People's Republic of China, in order to drain floods, resist drought, and ensure the needs of a bumper agricultural harvest. Since 1954, Zhongshan has successively built reservoirs such as Nanlang Baimikeng Shantang and Cuiheng Yixian Reservoir.
In September 1959, the Yangtze River Reservoir Engineering Headquarters was formally established, and it took 6 years to build a Yangtze River Reservoir with a total reservoir capacity of more than 50 million cubic meters in the Yangtze River Village, located in the central area of Wugui Mountain. The reservoir is designed to irrigate an area of 23,700 mu and is a medium-sized reservoir in Zhongshan.
In the winter of 1966, a power station was built behind the dam, and a cast iron pipe with a diameter of 0.5 meters was installed from 1972 onwards, and water for domestic and industrial production began to be provided to Shiqi City. Since then, for a long period of time, it has been the main source of domestic water for urban citizens.
The water of the Yangtze River Reservoir is clear and transparent, sweet as a rapture, and the locals have used these characteristics of the water to breed the Yangtze River crispy meat carp, boneless carp and other well-known aquatic products. However, it is precisely because the water content of the Yangtze River is low in calcium and is not suitable for children, women and the elderly to drink, so when the modern Dachung Quanlu Water Plant, which directly draws water from the Xijiang River, was completed in the early 1990s, zhongshan people changed to drinking Pearl River water.
The eye-catching feature of the Yangtze River Reservoir is also the "Yangtze River Paradise" playground built in front of the reservoir dam, which was completed in 1983, when it was in the early days of reform and opening up, it was known as the earlier and larger modern casino in southern China, and its "bumper cars" and "tumbling cars" were refreshing at the time, attracting tourists from most of China. In the 1985 "Ten Scenic Spots of Zhongshan" selection, the Yangtze River Reservoir won the reputation of "Rainbow Shadow of the Yangtze River" with the beauty of mountains and clear waters and the majestic posture of "rolling flying car" like a long rainbow hanging on the ground, becoming one of the ten scenic spots. On the dam side, an 11-story hotel on the main building was also built, which was the Yangtze River Hotel at that time, which was renamed Yijing Holiday Hotel since the early 1990s.
In 1998, when Zhongshan City selected the "Ten Scenic Spots of Zhongshan" for the second time, the Yangtze River Reservoir was once again widely loved by the people of Zhongshan, and became one of the ten scenic spots under the reputation of "Stacked Green of the Yangtze River".
However, what I cherish more is the natural and simple beauty shown in the "Yangtze River Paradise" and the hotel before it was completed. I wrote a short article for it in 1980, and I would like to excerpt some of them as a transcript of the situation at that time—
"The car to the Yangtze River Reservoir, just in time for the first break of the rain, looking up at the majestic dam, the mouth of the gorge, the scales are dotted, and the sky is shining." Climb the level to climb the dam, and suddenly feel that the air is particularly refreshing... The blue sky and the rising sun overhead, the blue waves under your feet, the green mountains stacked on top of each other, and the ears listen to the wind from all sides...
The beauty of the lake is ever-changing. Clouds and clouds. On the occasion of this rain and cloud sales, the more bright and lovely it feels. The lake is colorful and dust-free. The distant trees are affectionate and green. Suddenly I saw an arch rainbow bridge, flying in the air. What's the night? Provoke tourists to have a lot of reverie..."
