Recently, the Jinping Scientific Research Base of Shengsi County Marine Science and Technology Research Institute has once again successfully cultivated a batch of released equilateral shallow clam seedlings, with a number of more than 20 million seeds and an average shell length of 3.5 mm, which is a large-scale seedling. Up to now, the base has bred more than 80 million seedlings of equilateral shallow clams this year, and the number of seedlings is the highest in the past few years.

Commonly known as "sand clam", the equilateral shallow clam is an economic shellfish that inhabits the sedimentary bottom camp benthic life in the middle and lower tide areas of the intertidal zone. As a unique seafood business card of Shengsi, the equilateral shallow clams have been greatly reduced due to the deterioration of the marine environment and the over-harvesting of man-made fishing.
Shengsi County Marine Science and Technology Research Institute has been committed to the restoration of Shengsi characteristic shellfish species resources. In the past 10 years, through the continuous maturation and optimization of seedling technology, the institute has cultivated a total of 460 million equilateral shallow clam stocking seedlings, which has made great contributions to the restoration of equilateral shallow clam resources and the improvement of the ecological environment in Shengsi Sea.
At present, through the continuous release of seedlings, the resources of shallow clams in the middle of the Shengsi sea have been restored to a certain extent, and the fishermen's harvesting volume has also rebounded significantly.
