On July 3, an alcohol poisoning incident occurred in Koh Chhwang Village, Svay Tong Khang Tbong Township, Kampong Tak County, Kampot Province, killing 5 people and taking 12 people to the hospital for emergency treatment.
The local government said that before the incident, the above-mentioned residents bought alcohol and gathered to drink. Until 2 a.m. on July 3, three of them died suddenly, the others developed vomiting, weakness and other symptoms, relatives took them to the hospital, unfortunately 2 more died on the way.
It is understood they bought alcohol from a 47-year-old Vith Pang man. But after the incident, the liquor man had escaped. Police said they would do their best to find and arrest the liquor man in accordance with the law no matter what.
