Mica Mine:

Mica is a rock-making mineral, usually in the form of pseudohexagonal or diamond-shaped plate,flaky, columnar crystals. The color varies with the change of chemical composition, mainly with the increase of Fe content and becomes darker. The most used in industry is muscovite, followed by golden mica. It is widely used in building materials industry, fire fighting industry, fire extinguishing agent, welding rod, plastic, electrical insulation, papermaking, asphalt paper, rubber, pearlescent pigments and other chemical industries.

Usage

Mica powder is widely used in mica ceramic raw materials, plastic and rubber additives, building materials, paint additives, protective layer of welding strip skin, drilling mud filler, coating, paint, fire, oil consumption papermaking, oil drilling, decorative makeup and other industries.

1. Oil well drilling mud additive, which acts as a sealant.

2. In the roofing material, it plays a role in rainproof warmth, heat insulation and decoration.

3. Mica powder is used for mineral wool resin, paint mixing, can be used as concrete, stone, brick through the decorative coating of the exterior wall.

4. Mica powder is used for protective coating of welding rods, wires and cables.

5. Mica powder is used for fuel consumption, pipe mortar and cementing agent filler, making decorative coatings, sound-absorbing mud, ceiling and concrete filler and cement mortar filler, improve the strength of cement mortar.

6. In rubber products as a lubricant and high-strength electrical insulation and heat-resistant, acid and alkali resistant products filler, tire retreading as a covering agent, tire production as a lubricant between the inner and outer tubes. In the use of rubber and plastic, it can improve its mechanical strength, enhance toughness, adhesion, anti-aging and corrosion resistance.

Used in paint, it can reflect light and heat and reduce the damage of ultraviolet rays and other light and heat to the paint film, increase the acid resistance, alkali and electrical insulation properties of the coating, make the coating bright and beautiful, improve the durability, frost resistance, corrosion resistance, toughness and compactness of the coating and reduce the breathability of the coating, prevent spots and cracks, improve the resistance to oil and water erosion, and also prevent paint precipitation, which is also the preferred filler for important anti-corrosion coatings. Paints that are modeled when pouring metal, as well as paints that are electroplating baths, fillers in degreasing powders in cosmetics, additives in antifreeze and anti-yang paint pastes, admixtures in sealing paint ash, powder suspension agents in dry powder fire extinguishers, etc.

8. In the coating, it can greatly improve the weather resistance and water permeability of the coating film, enhance the adhesion between the coating film and the matrix and the strength of the coating film, and improve the appearance of the coating film.

Beneficiation method of mica

At present, for the beneficiation of mica with a crystal contour area greater than 4 cm2, it is mainly based on the difference in shape and friction coefficient between mica crystal and the vein, and the commonly used methods are hand selection, friction selection and shape selection. For fragmented mica with a crystal contour area of less than 4 cm2, it is mainly sorted according to the difference between it and the physical and chemical properties of the surface of the artery, and the method used is flotation.

(1) Mica processing method and process thereof

A. Hand selection

Workers pick mica that have been separated from each other on the mining work surface or on the pit mouth ore pile; the contiguous bodies of mica and chakra are broken with a hand hammer to select the mica in it.

B. Friction beneficiation

According to the difference between the sliding friction coefficient of the flaky mica crystal and the rolling friction coefficient of the armillary chalcedony, the mica crystal and the chakra are separated. One of the equipment used is a slanted plate sorting machine. The machine is composed of a set of metal inclined plates, each slant plate is 1350mm long and 1000mm wide, and the inclination of the next sloping plate is greater than the inclination of the previous sloping plate. The lower end of each slanted plate leaves a gap for collecting mica crystals, and its width decreases sequentially in the order of the slant plates. The leading edge of the gap is equipped with a triangular weir plate. During the selection process, large pieces of artisanal roll down to the pile of stones; mica and smaller ones are blocked by the weir plate and fall a diagonal plank through the gap. Repeat the above process sequentially on the slanted plate to gradually separate the mica from the artery. At present, the friction beneficiation process and equipment are not yet perfect, so in mica ore beneficiation, the method has not been widely used.

C. Shape beneficiation

According to the different shapes of mica crystals and chalcedonys, the ability to pass through the sieve seams and sieve holes of the sieves in the screening is different, so that mica and the chalcites are separated. When selecting, a sieve with more than two layers of different sieve surface structure is adopted, generally the first layer of screen screen is strip-shaped; the second layer of screen screen is square. When the raw ore enters the screen surface, due to vibration or rolling, flaky mica and small pieces of articulate can leak from the strip sieve seam to the second layer of the sieve surface; because the second layer is a lattice sieve, the chalcedony can be screened to leave flaky mica. The shape beneficiation method has the advantages of simple process, less equipment, high productivity and good sorting effect, so it has been widely used in mica mines.

(2) Mineral processing method and process of crushed mica

A. Flotation

Sort according to the different surface physical and chemical properties of mica and artisanal. The ore is broken and ground to dissociate the mica monomer, and under the action of the agent, the mica becomes a foam product and is separated from the chakra. Mica flotation can be carried out in acidic or alkaline slurries, and long carbon chain amine acetate cations and fatty acid anions are the trappers of mica. In the mica flotation process, three stages of rough selection and three stages of selection are required to obtain mica concentrate. Therefore, mica ore floating is selected to recover mica and fine-grained mica below 14 mesh in pegmatites and mica schist. In China, mica ore flotation has not yet been used in production.

B. Wind selection

Mica wind selection is achieved by special equipment. Its process is generally: crushing → screening classification→ wind selection. After the ore is broken, the mica basically forms a flake, while the vein minerals feldspar, quartz, etc. are blocky particles. According to this, the multi-level grading is used to pre-divide the selected materials into narrower particles, and according to the difference in their suspension speed in the air flow, special air sorting equipment is used for sorting. The wind separation method is suitable for areas with lack of water sources and has been used in actual production.
