Liu Huiyun, born in 1949 in Wuhan, Hubei Province, graduated from Chengdu Radio Industry School, studied in the Shanshui Advanced Research Class of China Correspondence University of Calligraphy and Painting, and is now a member of the Gansu Provincial Artists Association, a first-class painter of the Gansu Provincial Academy of Calligraphy and Painting, a senior painter of the Gansu Poetry and Calligraphy Association, a consultant of the Gansu Alumni Association of Chinese University, a director of the Gansu Silk Road Association, and the deputy secretary-general of the Lanzhou Elderly Calligraphy and Painting Association.
His works have won the Bronze Award of the Sixth National Art Exhibition, the Gold Medal of the Second "Century Elite" Chinese Calligraphy and Painting Competition, the second prize of the "Jincheng Literature and Art Award" of lanzhou Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government, the second prize of the "Fuxi Cup" National Poetry and Painting Exhibition, the second prize of the Fourth National Mass Calligraphy and Painting Exchange Exhibition, and the silver medal of the National Calligraphy and Painting Competition of Mao Zedong Poetry. When she was in school, Liu Huiyun belonged to the kind of reticent in the class, and she always liked to leave everything she saw and felt behind. However, at that time, there were no conditions around to learn to draw, so her hand was always gently flicking on the table, as if hiding an invisible drawing board in her heart, on which was a painting that could never be finished.
In 1965, Liu Huiyun was admitted to chengdu radio industry school, where she spent 4 years of secondary school study. On weekdays, the school has a fixed blackboard for posters, and there are always senior students laughing and using chalk to sketch out interesting patterns. Liu Huiyun often looks at this scene from a distance, and there is a strong envy in his eyes.
Among the female classmates, Liu Huiyun's handwriting was outstanding, so he was selected to write a big-character newspaper. At that time, there was an "iron rice bowl" that could be envied by others. In this way, Liu Huiyun, who originally stayed at the school to work, was transferred to the Gansu TV factory in 1972 and returned to Lanzhou, the city where her mother and sister lived. In the 1990s, many established state-owned enterprises ushered in the impact of the market, and Gansu TV factories were not spared. Liu Huiyun also did not expect that his "iron rice bowl" would disappear so ruthlessly and easily, and his life would become idle, and his life would suddenly fall to a trough that had never been seen before. Previously, Liu Huiyun, who was always busy, suddenly had a lot of time, but she did not feel joy because of this, but became more and more empty and anxious.
"For people like us who have worked in factories for many years, the trajectory of the 'three points and one line' is extremely limited to ideology, and to put it bluntly, it is more 'silly'." In October 2001, Liu Huiyun became a formal student of the Chinese Painting Study Class of Gansu Provincial University for the Aged. Why say "hard", because in fact this semester's class has been in session for more than two months, but for her it is not a thing.

"Whenever it rains, I go to sketch because I love the scenery of clouds and mist."
