According to reports, Wulipo National Nature Reserve is located in the northeast of Wushan County, at the intersection of the sub-region of the Loess Plateau, the sub-region of the western mountain plateau and the sub-region of the eastern hilly plain, with an altitude of between 175-2680 meters, with 3000 hectares of primary forest, nearly 300 hectares of native subalpine meadows, and 26.6 hectares of rare plant spikes and fir communities.
According to the data, at present, 3001 species of vascular plants, 2790 species of seed plants, 211 species of ferns have been found in Wulipo National Nature Reserve, and there are 16 species of national level I key protected wild plants such as metasequoia, ginkgo biloba, juniper, yew tree, southern yew, etc.; there are 447 species of terrestrial wild vertebrates and 17 species of national class I protected animals, which are important habitats for rare and endangered wild animals such as forest musk and black bear.
The relevant person in charge of the Management Affairs Center of Wulipo National Nature Reserve introduced in an interview with reporters that the reserve is currently divided into three areas: buffer zone, core area and experimental area. The buffer zone is in strict agreement with the management of the core area, both prohibit commercial activities, and tourists are not allowed to enter, and the World Natural Heritage Site is located in the core area of the protected area; the experimental area allows applications for commercial activities according to regulations, but must pass the approval.
According to the person in charge, the Dangyang Grand Canyon in the experimental area has now been renamed wulipo Grand Canyon, which is open and tourists can carry out tourism activities. "Tourists can follow the G347 National Highway to visit the Wulipo Grand Canyon and the Shenlongjia Dajiu Lake, and it is a good route to play along the road." The person in charge said that the Wulipo Grand Canyon tourism facilities are still being further improved, in order to meet the needs of tourists, in the future, Wushan County will build a visitor center and ecological corridor in the Wulipo Grand Canyon, and install high-definition cameras in the core protection area, using infrared perception and AR technology, connecting the visitor center to meet the needs of tourists, tourists do not enter the core area, but also can enjoy the ecological beauty, and even see real-time wildlife activities.
