When Netflix started producing Marvel tv series, their plan was simple:
The Four Defenders independent TV series were launched separately, and then assembled to form the Defenders Alliance.
This is somewhat similar to the Avengers in the big movies.
But the Punisher is one of the exceptions.
Frank Custer, played by Joe Bornser, was added in the second season of Night's Magic.
Because the response was so good, Netflix simply developed the Punisher's independent series directly.
The Punisher premiered its first season in 2017 and the second season aired in 2019.
In the case of Marvel's internal restructuring, although the episode has a good reputation, the Punisher, like other defenders, has also been cut down.
Over time, these cut episodes will all be restarted by Marvel early next year.
Of course, the premise is that Marvel is willing to restart.
In the latest interview with Geek Show, Joe Bornser talks about his thoughts on the third season of The Punisher.
While he couldn't be sure if that would happen, he said there was always hope.
"It's unbelievable that there are a lot of people who have commented on this version of Frank and I can't tell you how important it is to me because he means a lot to me. He runs in my blood, in my bones... So, it's not about whether we're going to do it or not, it's about being the version of the character that the fans really like. ”
Marvel currently has a number of new TV series projects on hand, defenders of the members of the series, will it have to wait until another lifetime?
