Recently, some citizens saw a female pointed-winged silver gray butterfly when climbing the Nanjing Yuejiang Tower. The male wing surface is black brown, with orange-red markings in the middle of the forewing and the outer end of the hindwing; the female wing surface is white on a black background, and the female and male wings are silvery white, flying to the osmanthus tree and floating back and forth in the cold wind.

A citizen told reporters that when the pointed-winged silver gray butterfly was found, it was both joy and amazement. The photographer said that in his more than 20 years of butterfly photography, the butterfly has never been found.

According to reports, among the existing gray butterflies in Nanjing, the pointed-winged silver gray butterfly may be the only one that overwinters in adult form. Even if the trees withered and the river was frozen, the sharp-winged silver gray butterfly still did not give up, struggling to survive the winter tenaciously.
